Lack of Bridesmaids

Jade, on April 1, 2021 at 7:32 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 11

I'm having stress already over not having people to stand with me on my wedding day. My partner is an extrovert and he's asked his best buds to be the groomsmen. There are 3 of them and that means I need 3 bridesmaids. Well, I have my maid of honor(it's really a man of honor) and I have my god-sister. I can't think of anyone else and my best friend is trying to help but he knows how much of an introvert I am. I don't want any of my family standing with me, so I don't know how to pick the last bridesmaid. Any advice? I can't have a groomsmen walk alone, can I?

Sides don’t have to be even. My husband was going to have 5 on his side and I was going to have 3 on my side before Covid changed our plans. I promise no one will say anything about it and your pictures will be just fine. Just go with the two you have in mind and call it a day.

You can have two groomsmen escort your bridesmaid, if that’s a concern.

The sides definitely don't have to be even! Pick only those who you are closest to, and don't add anyone just to make the sides even or out of obligation. You could have one bridesmaid walk with two groomsmen, or have the groomsman walk alone.

As PPs stated, sides do not need to be even. If you really feel you need to even it out, there are actual websites with bridesmaids-for-hire.

Sides don't need to be even. If you are worried about a groomsman walking alone then I would have the groomsmen stand at the altar with your fiance rather than walk down the aisle.

If you have uneven sides and your groomsmen are walking, you could also have one groomsman escort one of your mothers or grandmothers down the aisle.

You don’t have to have even sides. Better than having someone you don’t 100% want there’s

Don’t choose someone just to make the numbers even. Almost everyone I know who has done that has regretted it. Besides, at this point adding another person would be obvious that they weren’t an initial pick and could be unintentionally hurtful. As for walking in, have everyone walk in by themselves and alternate his person with one of yours.

Don’t need to be even. 2 groomsmen can take one down. Hey if she’s single and they are single she be the luckiest lady walking down with two men. Haha

Sides do not need to be even. I have 6 bridesmaids and 3 groomsmen. We are having them walk alone in a line girl, boy, girl ect. Not a ton of space between to make it drawn out. The biggest reason for us is the men will have swords and it's hard to escort with swords and there is just a whole thing with it. So to help we are just doing individual walking.

You don’t have to have matching numbers on each side. You can either have just one walk alone, or my personal preference, have everyone walk down individually.
