What is your relationship with this person? The duties you refer to sound like a hired position, but you also describe this as a special person to you. If you are not paying this person to be your assistant, perhaps you should invite her to enter as a distinguished guest and sit in the front row for the ceremony (as is done with parents and grandparents)?

Do you think she would like to walk down the aisle? If she's a close friend and part of your bridal party (I'm not quite clear on either of those points), then she should walk just like the rest of your party. If she's more like an employee, then no, I wouldn't have an employee walk down the aisle. I do hope you reserve her a spot to sit if you don't want her to walk down the aisle though. It would be unfortunate for her to get stuck in the back because she will likely be one of the last ones to sit since she will be carrying your train and whatnot.

To me this sounds more like a hired role than an honor. You've essentially asked your friend to be your personal assistant for the day but stopped short of accepting her into your wedding party. I'm very confused. If you could provide some more clarity on the role, then perhaps we could give you a better answer if she should walk down the aisle or not.

I think only the most important people should walk down that aisle before you. To me, this person would be considered a guest.
