Large scale ceiling decor on a budget

My Daughter's Wedding, on July 16, 2016 at 4:03 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 10

Has anyone had to decorate a large ceiling space without spending a fortune?. If so what type of ceiling? And how did you decorate?

Do you have any pics of the ceiling in the space you want to decorate?

Paper lanterns come in a variety of sizes and colors and some have battery-powered lights inside.

I'm not trying to be snarky but if you are honestly trying to save money, the first thing that comes to mind is don't decorate the ceiling. No one else will consider the state of your ceiling at your wedding. Use the money for something else.

I couldn't agree more with Alice. I would rather forgo any décor than go cheap and have it look cheap.

CM2CR, is your fabric fire resistant/proof and, if not, are you allowed to use it?

Check if you're allowed to do anything, i.e. fire regulations. I know a gal from college who had to take down a poster, she put on her dorm room ceiling, because of fire rules.

This is pretty much my last decor decision to make as well. Totally following.

Yes I am allowed to decorate ceiling. I have some fabric but I a not sure if I want to use for ceilings. I had idea of hanging pre-decorated frame/racks with a lightweight metal grid. After the grids are pre-decorated it would be quick to set up each grid with 2 drop ceiling clips. Thoughts of alternating lengths of ribbon/flagging tape with leaves at end. I think the leaves at end or any other flower or penny would be necessary at each end of ribbon/tape to keep it taunt. If not it curls up some. I have thought about the ceiling area along the length of windows to suspend wisteria type flower from ribbon. I have a lot of ideas. Just looking for input. Here are some images of ceilings. I have found dowel rods and rod clips for ends for draping and ceiling clips.

Personally wouldn't miss the ceiling decorations. Don't really know if I would notice it at all.
