Laser Hair Removal Before Wedding?

Julie, on October 20, 2016 at 12:27 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 5

Have any of you done laser hair removal? I really want to do it all (legs, brazilian, underarms, etc.) before the wedding, but I'm curious about the results, different types of lasers, and pain level. I have a consultation with a physician (not a medical spa) on the 28th. However, I'd love to hear your personal experiences!

I already went for my first session last month, waiting for my next in a few weeks... I got underarms and my brazilian. I LOVE it!!! I wish I would have used all that money on waxes towards laser... It already is growing back waaaayyyy less... It hurt towards the lower area ofcourse, but well worth it. It wasn't red or itchy like waxing was.

I love it! After the wedding I will continue to get other parts done, I can't right now because it's too expensive.

    good luck @Julie

I had it done last year. Worth EVERY penny.

I ran into some problems with the first office I went to (aka they went out of business and refused to return any clients phone calls) but the second place offered a better numbing gel and ice because it does sting but if the tech is doing their job correct it wont hurt for long. I used to have to shave daily, thick dark hair and it would grow back with in hours. Now I can shave and it lasts at least 4 days and grows back much lighter. I am considering eventually going back and getting my upper legs and bikini area done. I save so much now on razors!

That's great! I'm so glad it was a positive experience! That makes me super excited! Do you mind if I ask how long the sessions last?

I do not do laser, but had to learn about it to get my license for Esthetics. It is almost impossible to become 100% hairless with lasers. I have a lot of clients who did LHR, but still come to see me to get waxed. The hair is finer and thinner, but they are not hairless. Lasers work the best for people with fair skin and dark hair since most lasers target the pigment in the hair. Electrolysis has better results, but it is more expensive, but it is "colorblind" so it works a bit better in that way.

    ETA: clarifying

@Julia they were about an hour each. It gets realllly warm to since its lasers lol. But worth it. Like @abegaile said you won't be 100% hairless but it makes a world of difference
