Hi all! My wedding is June 3rd so quickly approaching. It is a backyard wedding. I've done everything, silverware, desserts, caterer, dj, bar, cups, straws, bathrooms, ... Is there anyone that can pick my brain and bring up something I could have possibly forgotten?

Flowers, cake, photographer, videographer, hairstylist, make up artist, bartender, wait staff, chairs, someone in charge of the bathroom (making sure it’s clean, restocking, toilet paper, soap, paper, towels, etc.), someone to bus tables and take out trash as it gets full.

Inclement weather plan (rain/heat, etc), enough parking, are neighbors aware of your plans so they don’t call cops.

Also, have you checked with your city regarding rules and permits? All towns have noise regulations (whether it be certain quiet hours or ensuring music stays below a certain decibel) and many places require permits for parking or to hold events. Make sure you are in compliance- it would be horrible to have police show up, get your event shut down, or have to go to court/pay fines.

Marriage license, rings, and partner? Lol

A layout/detailed plan of where everything is going/being set up. Especially if anyone is helping you with set up. Will be easier to have a reference sheet rather than them stopping to ask you a gazillion questions.

Scheduled lawn and tree care maintenance. Heating lamps or fans to keep mosquitos away. If fully outdoors, mini- tent for your bar and an ice plan. Any extra card tables, just in case. Personal fan, blotting papers, jacket, or galoshes for you just in case.

Extra lighting? We had a backyard wedding and forgot (until day of) to figure out lighting anywhere *beside* the tent area…my dad last minute realized to light the path to the bathrooms and to the shuttle— glad he thought of it bc it would’ve been dark! We ended up using citronella tiki torches for it which worked great bc it also made a cool ambiance and was a bug repellent!

Parking plan is also important— we had that sorted too but then realized we needed to designate some specific spots for vendors who wouldn’t be there all day , so having a strategy for that is good too.
