Last Month Beauty Routine?

We have 1 month left! We just started our "clean" eating diet and are both continuing our workout routines. I'm getting botox & extractions next week, and dermaplanning/O2 facial/lash lift & tint exactly 1 week prior. I'm starting at home teeth whitening 2 weeks prior. Here are my questions:...

Here are my questions:

1. I'm bed tanning (I know, not good for me). How soon do I start? Do I start now and go for very short periods and build a steady/slow tan? Do I go 2 weeks prior every day? I've tanned before, so I know I won't burn in level 2 beds for 8 minutes or less. I have tanning lotion & eye protection & nail protection.

2. I have body, face & lip exfoliants. I know they all work and don't cause reactions on my skin. My question is, how often do I use them? Weekly? Not until the week of the wedding? Daily?

3. Is a professional body scrub worth it?

4. I never get pedicures, I just get my fake claws done every 3 weeks. Has anyone done shellac pedicures? Are there other options besides traditional polish & shellac? Will I be okay getting those done the Thursday before our Saturday wedding along with my fake nails?

5. Do I really need to cut out dairy, salt, sugar & bread? I read that for the final week to prevent bloating. How important is that to do?

6. Waxing. I realize if I want to wax prior, I need to start growing out all my hair now (and it still may not be long enough 3.5 weeks from now). Is waxing really THAT much better than shaving? I've gotten a brazilian & underarm wax and I'm not sure if the pain is worth it again, or if I even have enough time for the hair to grow to wax length.

Oh yeah, I don't blame you. At European Wax Center, they make appointments in 15 minute increments. You are in and out and smooth. I never tried anywhere else.

I get a Brazilian wax every month and I’ll get mine about a week before the wedding. Make sure the place you’re going to does hard wax, it’s soooo much better!

Congratulations on the month to go! Smiley smile

Yes I definitely would not get any dermaplanning done closer to your date to avoid redness and swelling! I experienced that for a day or two after mine.

I would do your exfoliants no more than 2 to 3 times a week. Otherwise irritation can occur! Gentle rubbing! lol

The body scrub is absolutely fabulous and I recommend it highly! You get your money's worth and you just feel so good afterward! I would recommend at least five days out from the wedding, but it really feels heavenly! All those dead skin cells wash away! Smiley smile

I would do pedicure and manicure on the same day.

I will just warn you with the waxing that they do not recommend trying it out even two weeks out from your wedding! If it's an area that has never been waxed before, it can cause severe reactions that last a while and discomfort for weeks. So I'd be worried about getting it so close to the day and then causing pain on your wedding day!

Thank you, so excited! I'm getting the dermaplaning done one week before. My skin isn't very sensitive and even with intense microneedling, I only had redness for 1 day after!

Thank you for the tip, I'll keep that in mind! Should I start the exfoliants now though or closer?

I'm glad to hear you like the body scrub, I didn't know if it was THAT much different than exfoliants. I'll look into it for cost.

Good to know! I didn't have any reaction to my underarm or brazilian, so I assume arms/legs would be okay since they are less sensitive? I'll still consider it though for sure!

Definitely start the exfoliants ASAP. In the beginning exfoliants are known to bring to the surface dirt and bacteria deep within the pores and can cause initial breakouts. So you'll want to get that out of the way before you get close to the day! Smiley smile

My body scrub was maybe $90 and the effects lasted for like a month!

Thank you, good to know! And doing it 1 week before would be good?

Yeah I would think you could definitely do the body scrub a week out. I have hypersensitive skin that severely reddens and reacts to anything and I don't recall having any redness at all. However, If you're nervous about the timing you could easily do two weeks out and still enjoy the effects at the wedding Smiley smile

    1. I've heard the best way to do this is to build a steady and slow tan throughout the month. I don't have any personal experience with it though.

    2. Exfoliants should only be used every 3-4 days max! Otherwise you will dry out or irritate your skin.

    3. I doubt it is.

    4. I don't typically get shellac pedicures, I just get regular polish on my toes and then shellac or SNS on my nails. I'm probably going to get shellac on my toes for the wedding just to be extra sure that I don't have any chips for a few weeks. Thursday before the Saturday wedding is a perfect timeline. I'm planning on Wednesday or Thursday before my Saturday wedding as well.

    5. I feel like this is extreme. I would probably just focus on drinking extra water so you don't retain water and just stick to your regular healthy diet.

    6. If you don't regularly wax, I wouldn't have one right before the wedding (and if you need to wait a few weeks for your hair to grow out, the wax would fall just days before the wedding which I think is a bad idea). Even if you have had one before, sometimes you don't know how you're going to react if it has been a while. They could have changed brands for the wax supplier, it could be done differently if you go to someone else, etc. I get sugaring done for brazilian, lip & chin, and brows every month and plan to keep up my regular routine with that and just schedule my regular appointment a few days before the wedding. Since you don't have that routine, I would just shave as you normally do and leave it alone.

Thank you! I'm glad I asked about exfoliants, I have minimal experience so I don't know. I'll start with once a week then go to twice if I want to! Yeah I agree, shellac is good for the wedding day just to make sure it stays on! I don't think I'll do any extreme dieting, I'll just make an effort to eat even healthier & drink only water. I think I'll skip waxing, and just shave. I scheduled a sugar scrub a week before so that should help my skin! I've never done sugaring.

    July 27th here!

So, I started Tanning on the lowest level bed toward the middle of May. I am now on the highest level and moisturize pretty frequently. I would start with a low time and work your way up that way you're not burnt!

I bought Crest Whitening Strips and have been using them every Monday and Friday (strange, I know), and it has been making a difference for sure.

I'm getting acrylic nails put on only because I have pretty chubby fingers and the nails make them look longer LOL. I have had three broken toes on each side, so I'm not really a fan of other people touching my feet because it hurts.

I have never heard of the whole not eating dairy thing, but it makes sense I suppose.

As far as waxing goes, I'm not a fan of that kind of pain, so the only waxing I'm enduring are my eyebrows haha.

Here is what I have done so far:
*Had dental work done to fix a creoked tooth
    * Started whitening at home
*Made an appointment for a professional whitening 2 weeks out from the wedding
*Started daily moisturizer routine (still forgetting a lot, so this is still in the works

Here is what I still plan to do:
    *Shape eyebrows
    *Exfoliate
    *Face masks
    *Nails

Yay! You're on top of it for sure with tanning. I need to start this weekend, then I'll start in a level 2 (I typically tan in those) for 5 minutes at a time 3x a week. Then I can go up in level or in time (or both) 2 weeks out. I think I'll do the 2 week every day strips but my fiance is going to start now and use less frequently, he has more sensitive teeth.

I have acrylics on ALL THE TIME. I have for the last 10 years. I typically get them really short (I break them at work if not) so I'm going to have them take them off & put new ones on, longer coffin shape ombre french! I never get pedicures but from this post it seems shellac is the best for how long it lasts.

Nice! I love it. I've been doing a TON of skin prep for the last 6 months, but I have pretty bad skin. I'm super happy with the results for sure. Teeth whitening I need to start!

What kind of masks do you recommend? I've never done one and my skin and eyes are very sensitive to products so it's hard. My main skin problem is that my entire face is dry except under my lip/on my chin where if I out products or it gets dirty, I get pimples. My dentist suggested hydrogen peroxide for whitening, less damaging for your teeth. He said up to 2 times in one day every 3-4 days for 2 weeks ish. I wasn't consistent which is why I'm having them whitened next week. I wanted 2 weeks to let things "even out" for the wedding.

My skin isn't very sensitive, so I can use almost anything. I do have dry skin, so it causes acne from congestion. Recently, I use Neutrogena Gentle Foaming Cleanser morning & night, Neutrogena Alcohol-Free toner in the morning, and a hyarulonic acid serum at night. It's REALLY helped! I use Neutrogena Hydro Boost gel for daily lotion!

I started working out hard and eating healthier 9 months ago and So far i’ve lost 18 pounds. I’m 5’3, I weighted 136 pounds and now I weight 118. I’m so proud of myself because I finally changed my eating habits and I love this lifestyle. Everything has been done trough exercise and eating healthy. I haven’t focused on any other beauty routines yet, but I will start this month.
