Hi guys !! Newly married here and boy was my wedding perfect ! I wish you all the same. However does anyone know what steps need to be taken to legally change your last name in New York???? Any information will help. Thanks!!!!

I'm in Colorado, not New York, but I think they all start similarly? I went to the social security office with the form filled out, our marriage license, and two forms of ID (passport & driver's license). Once my social security card came in the mail, I went to the drivers license office with all the paperwork and changed that. Then I moved on to things like my passport, credit cards, bank accounts, car registration, voting registration, insurance, house deed, etc.
