Last name change?

I was happy to change my name to his and totally toss mine. I have no intention of keeping mine in any way shape or form. Maybe I'm just old school about name change after marriage but I'm all for it.

I'm also changing my maiden name to a middle name so it'll match my son, since my maiden name is also his second middle name lol

I have an attachment to my last name so I really struggled to totally give it up, but I also knew it would make my husband happy if I took his last name (even though he said he didn’t mind whatever I wanted to do). I thought about making it my middle name but also felt weird about losing it because it’s my great grandmother’s name, so I opted to add a second middle name! So my legal name is now first name, middle name, maiden name, husbands last name. I used the Hitch Switch service, which was super helpful.

I was super excited to take my husband's last name. Everytime a new document shows up with my new name I squeal. My husband thinks its the cutest thing ever 😍

I made my maiden name my middle name! I know that tends to be the more traditional route, but I am more traditional that way and wanted to take my husband's last name. All my married friends have done the same!

I’m adding FH’s name I just haven’t decided if I’m going to hyphenate or just add it. I’m not dropping my middle name either so I’m just going to have a long name but I don’t care lol. FH was fine with whatever I wanted. I love my maiden name and don’t want to drop it but I want to honor the new family FH and I are creating. Plus I love seeing and hearing my name with FH’s. So I’m going to add his name and go by my maiden name professionally and FH’s name socially.
