last question about jello shot (promise)

**Soon to be bride**, on April 4, 2011 at 11:42 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 10

Ok last questions!

1) Im planning to make about 100-200 jello shots...this is going to take some time. Will they go bad if I make them 2 days in advance/

2) If I do make them in advance do I have to cover them with anything (will they harden or go bad if I dont cover them?)

Thanks of for all the alocholic help lol Smiley winking

You can make them a few days in advance and they will be fine but definitely cover them. I don't know what you plan to put them in but I always use the little condiment cups with lids. If you are using something else i'd for sure find a way to keep them covered in the fridge. I personally don't like the plasticky feel to jello when it's refridgerated for to long without a cover.

Put in a Tupperware with a closed lid... or saran wrap over them..... or both... saran wrap and in a closed container.... not sure how soon to make them... start 2 days before you have time to make them all and they have time to set. (is my guess)

Here is two tips for you -

    1. Use Everclear instead of vodka or such. You will still be able to taste a little bit of it, but it is nothing compared to if you had used vodka or another. Trust me, this is wayyyyy better and makes me so much more enjoyable.

    2. Pour them in your cups, line up on cookie sheets, and then put them in your freezer. They wont take as long to set as if you were to just stick them in the fridge. Wrap them up once they are set/done. If you are not busy then you could even do this the day before your wedding and then you really wont have any worries about them becoming hard.

*Depending on how hard of the cups you are using, you may even be able to just stack the cookie sheets on one another. When I make them, I use small plastic mouth wash cups so if the material is like that then you're good to go on that. If it's not real strong then I would recommended placing the cookie sheets on their own shelf.
