Late night snack

Crystal, on March 26, 2014 at 11:45 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 14

Our reception ends at 11pm. I really want to send our guests home with a late night snack like a cheeseburger and fries from McDonalds, but that's just not feasible. What kind of snack can I put together before and put in a brown paper bag that isn't super expensive and doesn't need to be heated? What do you want to snack on after a night of drinking? Ideas please.

I love that idea. I am also doing a late night snack of carne asada fries station which is a San Diego thing. ( French fries topped with beans, carne asada, cheese, guacamole, sour cream). I would recommend doing maybe cookies, milkshakes, rice crispy treats, popcorn, brownies or maybe even smores

After my FH's sister's wedding, we (along with a number of others) were raiding the hotel snack bar. Maybe offer chips, candies, cheese and crackers, stuff like that is always good when people have had too much to drink!

I know someone in Atlanta who actually planned ahead of time for Krystal's to deliver at midnight. I have no idea what it cost, and I'm sure being in such a big city helped, but something like that or pizzas would be awesome!

We're doing a sandwich bar and Dorito bar.

If you have time the day before the wedding just have a sandwich making get together. Cheap(ish) if you buy all you stuff at Costco.

As for the Doritos. Who doesn't want to chow down on Doritos? mmmmm cheese!

I would just do Krispy Kreme donuts or chocolate chip cookies.

I would see if you could get cookies from a local bakery. I would also suggest soft pretzels. They're super cheap and delicious!

When I worked at a hotel that did a lot of destination weddings, nearly everyone ordered a bunch of sheet pizzas for 10 or 11 pm. They were very popular.

Our venue offers pizza, wings, BBQ meatballs, bar snacks like pretzels & trail mix, etc. around 10 pm. We're looking at serving pizza to help soak up some of the alcohol :]

See if your venue allows you to order pizza?

I'm making my favors homemade cookies. Since there will be plenty for them to eat at the reception, I'm hoping the cookie will give them something to munch on afterward.

I want to do a late snack too, I'm trying to have bifana sandwich bar (Portuguese street food, FH and family were born there. Its basically a thin piece of meat on really good Portuguese roll with whatever toppings you like: french fries, mayo, ketchup, mustard, etc.) its soo good.

If you want to do something ahead of time I like the idea of popcorn (popcorn bar?) or muffins are good to absorb the alcohol. I would want something that kind of fills me up a bit and absorbs the alcohol personally. Ill try and think of more do it ahead ideas for you! Smiley smile

I think our venue would allow us to order food, but it's on a military base and most places only come to the gate. Maybe I'll check into them making pizzas or making sandwiches with chips. Too bad the closest Costco or anything similar is 3 hours away Smiley sad

We are doing a philly pretzel and steak bar for the guests on the way out.

the venue will get pretzel nuggets from Philly Pretzel Factory, and they already do a mini cheese steak as an h'ordouvre. that and a bottle of water for each on the way out Smiley smile
