Late wedding invitations

Hi everyone. So my fiancé and I were going to be on the later end of sending our invites out (6weeks) due to the illness and death of my grandmother.

But then when we received them they are faded and not as color saturated as the should be. They look as though I left them out in the sun. The company is sending me new ones but it’s taking forever we caught the issue on Tuesday and won’t have a replacement until next Wednesday. Today is 6 weeks out. We did send save the dates. Should I send the faded ones? If so should I include a note about the delay due to printing. Should I wait until I get the correctly printed ones? I’m so upset about this that I don’t know what to do.

If you have everyone on Facebook i would make a post explaining that due to a printing error the invites haven't arrived and for everyone to expect them within the next week and a half. Or you could do a mass text. I would wait to send them till you get the better looking ones. Are you having a big wedding or small? If you feel like you need to get out the invites to those who may take forever to respond then send a personal message to them with wedding info now plus the rsvp date and tell them the invite will follow soon.

If you have people email addresses I would send out an email explaining what’s going on (bccing everyone so that you’re not sharing addresses). I wouldn’t post anything about it on Facebook as I’m sure not everyone that you’re friends with on Facebook is invited to the wedding

I'm sorry to hear this happened to you. You can totally work around this
Do you have everyone's email addresses?
If so, I think a quick email with essential information they need and explaining that there was an issue with the printed invite and they will be along shortly would be a great idea!
You already sent your STDs so I'm sure everyone has the date saved, however, giving them any additional information they need in the meantime may be best
