I sent an email with my selected bridesmaid dress in mid-August, giving my bridesmaids all the info they needed for online ordering, including a discount code they could use, making the total cost around $140 with free shipping. The email was sent after showing them all the dress on my phone in person and getting their approval.

Since the dress can take 10 weeks to come in, I asked that they please order by November 15, which gave them 3 months to get measured if necessary and place an online order.

It is now over a month past the recommended ordering deadline and all but one bridesmaid has ordered. She has been asked if she ordered both before and right after the deadline and said she "hasn't had time and doesn't know her size".

I just found out that the color I selected is discontinued and cannot be ordered. I have 5 of 6 matching bridesmaids, who have a dress in hand. I do not want one person sticking out in a different dress. What should I do?

She had plenty of time to order the dress or confront you about the issue. Clearly being a BM is not on the top of her to do list. I would tell her that unless she can find the same exact dress somewhere else, she can attend as a guest. She literally blew her one and only job.

Thanks, @Natalie. After an entire day thinking about this that's pretty much the conclusion I've come to as well.

I think that you should cut her out of the bm roll and give her a different roll or just invite her as a guest.

Don't feel bad about having her attend as a guest, because this will hopefully be a great lesson for her to learn the hard way.

Hopefully this will be a wake up call that she needs to get her act together and be a damn adult. There is no excuse for procrastinating to this extreme, and this is coming from a self proclaimed procrastinator!

This happened in a wedding I was in 2 years ago. Bridesmaid ordered her dress in plenty of time (she had it at least 5 months before the wedding) but didn't bother to try it on til about a week prior to the wedding. It was too small and the folks at David's Bridal suggested she order a new size and have it rush delivered rather than do alterations. She followed their advice but, it turns out, they didn't make that dress in that color anymore. So she asked for her original dress back to get altered but they had already sold it. SUPER stressful for the bride. They ended up ordering a dress that was similar to the other bridesmaids' dresses in the same color and then they altered it to get it as close as they could to what the other dresses looked like. It actually came out pretty good and you couldn't really tell the dress was different.

If you happen to care to put any more effort into this, I've found two similar styles on Azazie. They're clover color actually looks pretty close to the Social Bridesmaids moss. You could always order the swatch for $2 (free shipping) to see how it matches up. They're turnaround time for dresses is pretty good and they offer free custom sizing. I have ordered and tried on sample dresses from them and I found the quality to superior to that of many sample dresses in the bridal boutiques. I understand your frustration and I sincerely hope you can get this issue resolved.
