Leave it to the professionals or do it

CountryBride, on September 26, 2020 at 10:28 AM Posted in Planning 0 10

I am a florist by trade I taught myself and am pretty dang good at it. I've done my ex mothers bouquets for her wedding. do I attempt to do the flowers myself or leave it to the professionals? I was thinking of doing them the day before and have them in the fridge honest opinions are welcomed and most of the center pieces are going to be lavender in a mason jar on the table

and I am thinking using fake for the bridesmaids

If you don’t think it will stress you out then go for it I’m sure you would save a decent amount of money.

But do you think you would have time to add on that task? It seems like it could get time consuming

For the fake flowers, if you'd like to do them, I say go for it! You can work on those well ahead of time so it isn't a last-minute activity. For any real bouquets, I would pay a florist, just so that it saves you time the week of your wedding. You'll likely have plenty of other last-minute things to do the week of, so anything else that can be done ahead of time or delegated to someone else would probably be a good idea.

I have no doubt that you are amazing when it comes to flowers. However, I think trying to add that to your list of things to do the day before your special day is taking on too much. I have 1 MOH & 2 bridesmaids & I plan on making their bouquets a few weeks prior.

If I was pro I would try to do my own. I’m actually going to attempt with my bridesmaids to make our own been watching tons of videos lol. Like PP said if you think you can handle it and not feel stressed I say go for it! You know exactly how you want your bouquets to look.

I’m all about allowing professionals to do the job!!!! Therefore, I’m doing zero DIY for the wedding (and I’m great at crafting and creating... I love it). But for my wedding? Nope. I refuse to take up my engagement time with anything more than planning, paying, relaxing and enjoying 😄.

For my themed Star Wars wedding, I made a lightsaber bouquet using those $10 toys. Got the clearance fall flowers from Michaels and with the coupons saved even more on it. Painted the small details on the saber as well. It is a bit large though but I like it. Took me a few days but it's done and over with. Leave it to the professionals or do it 2
I also found these cool alien like flowers that had similar color scheme and using cheap little milk jars from Michaels and gravel from Petsmart, we're using these for the centerpieces.

We also did our wedding arch. Just need to add some few things to the sides so that it's not bare. But everything was DiY.

Leave it to the professionals and chill out for the day. I made faux bouquets for my girls which I love love love. And wanted the same bouquet for myself But the stems were so short I was concerned it’d like weird, fake, and not bridal. So literally last week I bought a fake bouquet for myself off of Etsy

This is a tough one. Being in the industry I would think some of the vendors would be done on trade? So you trade work for a florist to do your wedding and they return the favor at a later point. . .

Or if you think this is something you can manager I say do it, it might even calm you as you are in your element!

It depends on what you feel like.

For me personally, I want to enjoy the day and the moments up to it as much as possible so I would leave it to the pros and someone else to bring everything together. It’s a lot to plan and manage a wedding alone as a bride, yet alone filling another project or task.

But if you have a vision and are energized and excited about doing your own flowers then by all means, knock yourself out Smiley smile
