Leftover invites ideas?

Jill, on January 25, 2015 at 11:07 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 4 11

So my soon to be husband and I ordered WAY too many invitations! We were thinking 50 guests, 50 invitations, plus a little more just incase. Didn't even think about families who only needed ONE. hahaha. What are you guys doing with your extras? Mine have a pretty design on the back, so I am going to have a few framed, with the back as the border. (Here's the design http://www.weddingpaperdivas.com/product/14291/signature_white_wedding_invitations_timeless_rings.html#color/01/pid/14291)

Put two in your photo album or scrap book. One showing the front. The others showing the back.

Cut one up into ribbons and make a keepsake Christmas ornament.

I actually posted something a few weeks ago about doing the same thing lol! I ordered about 60 more invites than I actually needed (100 guests means 100 invites...right?! Lol) We actually mailed a bunch to celebrities. You can find them to Fanmail.biz they have everyone's addresses. Other than that, I am planning on saving a few for scrap books and photo albums...not sure about the rest.

Yes it seems I too over ordered. Better than being too short. I am actually hoping my cousins friend will make me a candle with the invite wording on it like she did for cousin. Very pretty. I plan on framing one (assuming I get the invite frame from registry). I will save a few for scrap books. I actually have one to my parents wedding in 1966! Very very cool to me. They have one painted on a ceramic inviation thing that I may get framed with Mom's veil and cake knife set someday.

Lol. Mine are still in a box in a closet! I got them for like 90% off before we even had our guest list done. Venue held 250, so I ordered 250, we sent out 110!! But I saved so much I don't even care. I still came out on top Smiley winking I used a few for scrapbooks, my mom and mil took a few, the rest I have no clue what to do with!

    Celebrity invites all the way!

We sent our left overs (about 25) to celebrities and got a few returned.

We got our RSVP card back from Steve Carrell. It was a decline but still awesome!

We also got a congratulatory note from the Whitehouse.

    Totally worth it!

Cute ideas! Smiley smile sounds like most of us are in the same "oops" boat. Haha.

Oh my gosh, I didn't know you could send them to celebrities! That's pretty neat even to get a decline from one like Sarahdell! I'm thinking I might have to order some extras on purpose now Smiley winking.

I used the backs of my RSVP cards as the background to our table assignments display. Saved $$!

I know some celebs will send an autographed picture, so that's kinda neat! I'll have about 20 extras because of the way I had to order in bulk. I know my mom will want at least one extra (she took like 5 save the dates... no clue why!) and we'll probably want to keep one too.
