Just Said Yes September 2022

Legal Contract

Hi, (This is my first post on here) But my fiancé and I are getting married in September of this year (2022) & I have more of a legal question and seeking some advise and reassurance.

So I won a photography deal that’s original price was $2,400 I won a 50% off so my total would’ve been $1,200 (it required a $600 deposit which we paid after signing a contract) - All in the same day, months ago.
Now my photographer is stating that they are charging a travel fee for anybody who is a new client OR who has a remaining balance. Which we do, it’s due in the beginning of September. Can they legally due that since we’ve already signed a contract stating the price we agreed on and that I won?
* Also, I understand why they are starting to charge a travel fee for the gas prices being increased but I don’t believe it should affect someone who already signed the contract!
* I did go back and check the contract and it states nothing of possible add of prices *
PLEASE if you have any guidance. I’m freaking out since it’s only a few months away.

I’d reach out to them and ask. Also if you’re contract didn’t state it they should be able to honor your contract. Before paying any extra get confirmation from them. If they are going to charge, ask if it’s possible to keep your original signed contract.

I agree with you if you signed the contract and it lists nothing of increasing prices in the future due to circumstances then it’s not fair that he wants to raise prices now. Since he is ur photographer I would go very gently about it as he had the power to take really great pics or maybe take not so good ones as some sort of revenge. Maybe come to an agreement point half ways? You are totally right though.

That's why you have the signed contract. You should talk to them to confirm that you are still locked into the pricing that was agreed upon prior. If they are still saying that there's an increase to the pricing then they broke the contract and should be giving back the money you already paid them.
