Do you mean for someone to be ordained? You get your marriage license through the state you’re getting married in.

You have to go the courthouse to get a marriage license. No way around that. Sorry

I wouldn't trust an online marriage license. You have to go to the courthouse. Look up Registrar of Vital Statistics for your county.

Have you made sure this is even legal where you’re getting married? There are many states/counties that don’t allow online ordination.

Depending on your state it might not be legal. I know in VA you have to go to the courthouse and put down a deposit to have someone temporarily ordained.

Make sure it’s legal where you are to do this. For instance, where I am, only very specific people are allowed to perform marriages and it is difficult and expensive to become ordained.

Becca - Make sure you read all the comments now before you post - since we can't edit our own posts anymore - OP clarified that she was looking for a legitimate website to get someone ordained.

OP- call your county and verify that you are legally allowed to do that. The laws vary from state to state - Your easiest bet is to higher someone professional to save yourself the stress.

You can’t get your marriage license online, you must go to the courthouse in person to fill out the paperwork with your SO.

Wow, a lot of people here do not read through comments before adding their own. OP please just ire a professional. They can be relatively inexpensive and they will know what they are doing rather than someone who gets ordained and performs their first ceremony. It takes more effort than you might think to run a marriage ceremony. Times like this I wish Celia were here to explain that.

Check out what's legal in your state, CA is pretty flexible and for my first wedding my grandfather got ordained through the Universal Life Church.

OP explained why her title was misleading. But you'd know that if you read the comments.

We went through Universal Life Church I believe to have our family friend ordained! We wrote the ceremony and emailed it to her about a week ago! We’re so excited!

There is one out there, you'll have do web search and it's through the Universal Life Church. It's non-religious. Do you have a friend or family member that wants to officiate? If so, thats probably the best way to go. It's all online and I hear that it's free.
