Length of veil? dance w/ veil?

Amy, on April 29, 2021 at 7:38 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 18
Hi Brides, I'm wondering about the length of my veil. A longer one looks beautiful in pictures, but does it just get in the way during the ceremony? A shorter one seems practical, and you could keep it on for dinner /dancing. Anyone planning on leaving it on?

I got a cathedral veil and I’m planning on taking it off after the ceremony. Just to be a little more comfortable and not have to worry about fixing it or getting snagged during dancing.

My veil is my something borrowed. My cousin lent me her beautiful cathedral length veil so when I went dress shopping I brought it with me to make sure it worked with the dress that I picked. Personally I love the elegance of a long veil for pictures and the ceremony, but I will definitely be taking it off after the ceremony. I want to be able to move and dance!

I am getting a shorter one, probably fingertip length, so I can wear it while dancing. I will still have to be careful I don't sit on it durring dinner, since I am leaving it in.

I'm getting whatever veil my mom tells me too lol, I don't want to wear one at all but my mom insists I have to wear one so I'm giving into it.

I plan on only wearing it for the ceremony and removing it for the reception

I love the elegance and drama that the cathedral veil gives. I have a cathedral length veil and I plan on only wearing it for the ceremony then for the reception I’ll change my headpiece

Well I wanted to do a crown with the long veil for the ceremony to look royal and elegant and for the reception I’m thinking about doing a headpiece like this.

I'm not wearing a veil, but every bride I've seen that wore one took it off before the reception.

I wore a cathedral veil for my ceremony and to take pictures, if you designate one of your bridesmaid to adjust it for you during ceremony and pictures it won’t get in the way. I took it off for my reception but I bought a beautiful head piece from Etsy for my reception. I attached pictures for you so you can see what it looks like.

OMG gorgeous! I love how the wind carries it. And I love the headpiece great idea! Beautiful couple! What is your height difference? I'm 5-1 and my fiance is 6-4 :-) so I'm trying to wear 3 inch heels

Long veils definitely need more primping and fixing (after you walk down the aisle, as you're posing for pictures, etc.) - but they are really beautiful!! ❤️

I wore a fingertip length veil because my big ballgown dress felt dramatic enough, and took my veil off before the reception!

I kept my cathedral-length veil on because I couldn't take it off 🤣 My hairstylist wanted to make sure it was snug and comfortable...and it was. But it was impossible to take out without ruining my hair. I didn't mind too much because I loved my veil and was happy to be able to wear it longer. Just drape it over one of your arms to dance! You can still twirl and everything 😊Length of veil? dance w/ veil? 6
