Less is More or More is More?

The Bride, on May 29, 2019 at 8:11 PM Posted in Married Life 0 9

For our wedding, my husband and I decided to get a trailer (~3-minute film) and raw footage. After seeing the trailer we definitely want a longer video but we don't know if we should go with a 15-minute or 30-minute film. Our videographer has agreed to create a film of either length for the same price. In this case, what would you say... less is more or more is more?

Check out our trailer:

I guess I would go with the 30 minute video. You can always just fast forward later in life when rewatching it. You can't add more in 20 years.

Hi Hannah! My husband also thinks we should get the longer video as a home video of sorts for our future children.

I would want 30 minutes! The more footage to watch, the better!

Hi Gen! I'm just wondering if I would actually watch it now that I have the attention span of a child thanks to Vine videos and such, lol.

I love your teaser video! Are there specific things you want in the longer video, like toasts, other dances, cake cutting, etc? Maybe your videographer could help you decide what’s going to be best based on what specifically you’re looking for. I’m just thinking if it was me, I probably wouldn’t watch a 30 minute video, I’d prefer the highlights. Congratulations!

Hi Jessica! My husband and I want the longer video to have highlights from the entire wedding night. We would really like to highlight family and friends having fun since that wasn't really shown in the trailer. Although we have 2 hours of raw footage, we're just wondering if there is enough quality material to create a 30-minute film. Ultimately we wouldn't give our videographer too many constraints.

I personally don’t think I’d ever sit down and watch a full 30 min of my wedding, but, you know your attention span best haha

Especially because you have the raw footage — you can always see bits and pieces if you want to. But the film is designed to be sat and watched through. I love seeing my guests have fun but I think more than 10 min of watching f them dance would get boring quickly haha 🙊. But that may just be me!!

Hello. I kind of agree. I'm not sure how much of the video I'd even watch if I got a 30 minute film.
