Let me hear about your proposals!

Jess, on January 9, 2020 at 10:26 AM Posted in Parties and Events 2 30

Tell me how your partner proposed to you (or how you proposed to them)! Smiley ring

Here's mine:

It was very simple but absolutely adorable. He took me to one of our favorite parks and to this little dock on the lake where he played me a cute little song he wrote for me on the ukulele. After he was done singing he got on his knee and asked me and of course, I said yes! Later he told me that he was worried I'd knock him into the lake when I hugged him after he asked, but luckily that didn't happen. Smiley laugh

That night he proposed it was just like a regular night in. I went to take a shower and he's like 'yeah.. take a nice long shower' aha I didn't think anything of it. And then I came out and he had me go look out the window and I'm like eh can it wait I'm painting my nails ahahaha. And then so he's like no it can't! So I go and I see he laid out candles and rose petals in the yard spelling out 'i love you, marry me?" and then he gets on his knee and I said "yes but I wish you would have waited til I had pants on". I didn't have any pants on 🤣

My husband just asked me one night in our living room hahaha. He said he was waiting for the “perfect moment” but then realized any moment could be perfect if we made it that way

We were coworkers first, so our first "date" was Black Panther for Valentine's Day. He was so nervous though that he didn't make a move the whole night, so I thought I had misread. Then he took me to dinner the next week and shyly admitted that he liked me. It was super cute. The night he decided to propose, he realized the ring box wouldn't fit in his jeans, and his on his feet decision was to put on his hoodie...when it was 90 degrees out. In Texas, in September. I knew something was up because he was nervous the whole night, and it was kind of a replay of our first date. Then after we ate at the same place, we walked outside and he stopped me, got down on one knee, and said he didn't just like me, he wanted to marry me. Suuuuper sweet. We both cried. Of course I said yes.

I was in bed playing a Zelda game on his switch when he came upstairs with an avocado and there was a ring instead of a seed. It was our three year anniversary.

I had to say yes like four times before he realized I said it. He was super nervous I would say no because I had previously talked about how I dont wanna get married, just be bf/gf for 40 years. (Obviously I changed my mind)

We took a mini few day vacation in the poconos in July. On July 4th he had me help him set up fireworks at a house we rented (fire place in the back), and tie a bunch together with a fuse and as we watched them go off he asked me to marry him

We were closing our summer camp for the season and we were on the deck looking at the autumn colors on the lake... he got down on one knee and I had no idea what he was doing, and I ignored him and said something along the lines of “what are you doing, you weirdo? Get up...” then realized what he was doing when he went on about how he loves me and loves our life, etc. I had no idea what he said because, as usual, I wasn’t paying much attention lol
We’ve been together for about 17 years. We have a family and a home and only talked about marriage recently. He surprised me for sure. He’s amazing - he’s the best dad, partner, provider... he takes care of everything and I appreciate and love him so much. He’s my best friend. We’re getting married in August.

FH came up with a very elaborate lie and planned forever for our proposal. Starting the week before he made sure my mom insisted we get our nails done. I thought it was a little odd since we were short on time, but its something we do regularly. Next, he told me he had won baseball tickets and a hotel room is the city (about two hours from where we live, but only 20 minutes from my hometown). So our plan was to go down Friday night for the game and dinner with friends then get up Saturday and explore downtown. We got up, had breakfast, and started getting ready. He kept rushing me to finish my makeup so we could get going, which didn't happen since I didn't think we were in any rush. We packed up the hotel room and started down the river walk to a cute little coffee shop. As we got there he pointed out one of my good friends, and asked why she might be there. She said she was there to do a photo shoot for a couple of friends and asked me to do a couple of test shots for her. Again, totally normal as I've modeled for her in the past. FH said he would go get us some coffee. When he walked back down (we we're on the river walk still even though it was blocked off, oops) he had a mug. He said "well, I didn't find any coffee, but I found this cool mug." BTW, huge coffee lover here. He handed me the mug, I looked on the outside and it was all white, but I finally looked in the bottom, it said marry me and he was down on one knee. He had hired my friend to make sure she caught it all, then we did a mini photo shoot. After we got some coffee (finally) then went to the farmers market.

We were on vacation in Nashville with 2 close friends and some of my fiance's family. We were going to spend the day touring the Grand Ole Opry and thinking back on it now he was acting super weird all morning. I went to put on shorts and a tank top and he said "we're going to the grand ole opry, don't you wanna wear a dress or something and straighten your hair?" I should have known then lol. But we went to go have breakfast and when we got to the Grand Ole Opry it was a tour group of about 30-35 people and I was just looking around and he kept asking me to stay towards the back with him and our group. At the end of the tour we were up on the stage at the Opry and they were taking pictures of each group. So we got one big group shot and then his aunt said she wanted a picture of the 2 of us. So not thinking anything of it we took the picture and I went to go walk away and he pulled me back and he was down on one knee. I was in shock. The photographer took pictures of the whole thing and we ended up getting our pictures for free! Later on he told me that I actually didn't say yes at first I just handed him my left hand. Smiley xd definitely a memorable experience.

FH proposed to me on a cruise with his parents (college graduation gift to the both of us). It was captain's night so we were all dressed up. We ate dinner and then went on the top deck "for photos". It was so cute. It was freezing and when he called me over to take the photos he said, "are you really that cold?" and I told him yes.

I was clearly shivering! He looked at me and said "maybe this will warm you up" as he got down on his knee. Little did we know, we had a small maintenance crew for an audience and they clapped and congratulated us so that was nice too lol.
