Tell me how your partner proposed to you (or how you proposed to them)! Smiley ring

Here's mine:

It was very simple but absolutely adorable. He took me to one of our favorite parks and to this little dock on the lake where he played me a cute little song he wrote for me on the ukulele. After he was done singing he got on his knee and asked me and of course, I said yes! Later he told me that he was worried I'd knock him into the lake when I hugged him after he asked, but luckily that didn't happen. Smiley laugh

I had always told my (then) boyfriend that I would like my family to be present when he proposed. And on our 7 year anniversary, we went out to dinner, then took a walk on the pier. He then took me out on the beach, and I saw candles and rose petals in the shape of a heart, then turned to see my best friend and family and he got on his knee and proposed. I couldn't even walk all the way there before I started crying my eyes out! He had been speaking with my best friend all day about making it perfect, and had her set some stuff up while we were at work. It was a dream come true. Although, I sometimes wish it was just us (even though I wanted my family there) so we could have shared a moment alone. Nonetheless, amazing!

My FH asked me if I wanted to go on a hike and I didn't think anything of it because we've been trying to be more active. We went out around 4pm, which is pretty late in our book. We went to one of the first hiking places we went to, which again - didn't think anything of because we sometimes go there as it's one of the easier hikes. We sat on the benches when we got to the top and he immediately got off the bench and walked to the edge where there was a bush. I was wondering why he was there, but then he came back and sat next to me. We talked about our future: living, kids, cars, etc. And then he said something, I looked over confused, and he was down on one knee with my ring!

We were on a trip to Disney. It had been my first time back in Disney after 20 yrs so everything was so new to me. All I wanted was some mickey ears lol. We get my ears and we are watching the parade in magic Kingdom. After the parade was done he took me over to a photographer to have our picture taken in front of the castle. When we were done he said "wait I want one more picture " and I'm like "ok weirdo the 8 pictures she just took was plenty but sure let's do another." We are posing and then he starts getting down on one knee and messing around with his fanny pack. I'm say "what are you doing?" And then he asked me to marry him. I cried and honestly didnt remember actually saying yes lmao. He got my cousin in on it too so she knew to record it and so the photographer would know it was happening. I didnt see it coming because he had always told me he would never do it in a public place. Definitely the happiest place on earth!

New Year's Eve party with our friends. We traditionally play a game called "Topfschlagen" - a German game where people have to find a small gift after being blindfolded and spun around.

DH arranged for me to go last (THUS TELEGRAPHING TO ME THE ENTIRE JIG), swapped out the gift for a ring box (with, hilariously, a borrowed ring, as mine had not actually arrived, yet), and when I found the gift (it's always under a pot and you have to find the pot while blindfolded and on your knees with a wooden spoon), he gave a little speech and proposed. (He was sitting on a chair behind the hidden gift, and when I flipped over the pot, just said, "I knew it.")

TBH, he'd been squirrelly for a month, we'd been talking about it forever, and I had gone to work that night saying I'd better be engaged or there'd be bodies. Went into the party asking, "...is he proposing? He's proposing..." which made my friends both mad and amused.

There's a great video on FB of the whole thing.

No proposal. I didn't think he'd actually ever do it anyway - he's not the planning type. Sincerely, if I waited another 17 years it still likely wouldn't happen! Smiley xd We were planning our next cruise and couldn't justify a super long one and I didn't want to do a rushed one. So I said, "What if we booked a long one and made it a honeymoon cruise? We can both get extra time off for a honeymoon cruise!" And he said, "Sure." And then I was off and running. We booked the cruise and then started thinking of a date that would work for a wedding. The next weekend we bought a ring and then told everyone we were getting married. It was very hard to keep it a secret (we waited about 12 days). Planning started almost immediately. So no romantic proposal, but I love that we booked the honeymoon first! We LOVE to travel so it makes sense for us. And we get extra time off work. LOL. Huge perk!

Let me tell you!! The moment he proposed, I completely forgot I was cold. It literally warmed me up. The maintenance crew was so sweet. They made OUR night. We honestly didn't even know anyone was up there. That's how dark it was lol

We went to a cat café where we were supposed to meet a friend. She wasn't there when we arrived so I just started petting the kitties. About 5 minutes later 12 of our friends show up (not the friend we were waiting for). He didn't offer an explanation about why they all showed up, so at this point I was pretty sure what was about to happen. I greeted everyone and then went back to playing with kitties. THEN. Both our families show up. At that point, he got down on his knee and popped the question. Of course, I said yes. He brought out desserts and Martinelli's and we had a little engagement party! Turns out he had rented out the café in advance for a couple hours.

It was the perfect thing because we're both huge cat lovers, if you couldn't tell 😻
