Let me see what you've made!

Emma, on September 20, 2019 at 8:50 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 3 63
I feel like I need to get a start on DIY projects but it feels like Pinterest is getting overwhelming. I want to see what you've actually made for your wedding. Let's see your centerpieces, backdrops, signs, bouquets, boutonnieres, EVERYTHING!

We are having a rustic chic wedding in June. Colors are gray, sparkly silver, lavender and plum.

I've DIY'd a bunch of stuff, but the crepe paper flowers are probably my favorite. I also sewed tote bag backpacks for the girls and dopp kits for the guys. DIYs not pictured include escort cards made using alcohol inks and bottle openers made from bourbon barrel staves. It's been a long year for crafting, but I've had a lot of fun.

Oh thank you! Smiley smile I've been trying to be ahead of the game! There are other DIY projects I have done too but I don't have pictures and there are two more that needs to be done. You have plenty of time! Get inspired and go from there!

Haha thank you! I knew whatever decor I wanted I was going to make myself. Our barn is beautiful without any decor so I started with the Mr. & Mrs. lights once I knew our colors, then did the card box and when went from there doing the same colors and stuff with anything else I wanted. There are more that I have done and two that still need to be done. You have time! Start with something small you want to do and then go from there!

This is what I have so far: cake stand, card box, ring bearer box (outside and inside), fairy jar centerpieces, and our cake topper that I repainted (original statue is on the top right of that photo). Still need to work on wedding bouquets, boutonnieres and flower wreathes.

I spray painted all of our centerpiece vases a copper color! If you’re painting any glass I highly recommend this method! We just went to Home Depot and got some wooden dowels, chopped them in half and stuck them in the ground, then stuck a vase upside down and sprayed away! My husband, MIL and I sprayed for maybe an hour and just let them dry in the sun. SO FAST! And no missed spots!

OH and I almost forgot my most prized possession, my vodka sign! 😂 My aunt found this sign for me on Facebook market, looked like someone used it as their menu sign before. I just have it a fresh coat of paint and got these cute stickers at Target!

Haha thanks! I used a Cricut to cut out all the petals, and the designs are all from Lia Griffith's website. I made a first batch of flower by cutting everything out by hand to see what I liked, make sure I thought I could actually swing making the all the flowers, and deciding if I really wanted to buy a Cricut - which was totally worth it in the end.

I love that. We don't have space like that since we're in an apartment. But definitely gonna find somewhere to do that. I've been on the fence about whether or not I want to paint mason jars, but your vases are so pretty!

Whether or not to buy a circuit has been one of my biggest internal struggles in this wedding planning process lol. I may just have to!

Oh we are in an apartment too! That is my MIL’s yard haha so I guess if you have a friend or family members who would let you borrow their yard then that would work!
