Let me see your DIY Seating Charts/Escort Cards

Emily O., on July 8, 2015 at 11:27 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 14

Thanks to WW, I am now pro-assigned seating! It makes so much more sense to assign seats so that you don't run the risk of people sitting next to people they don't know, splitting up groups or having to provide certain amounts of extra seating because adults will leave empty seats when it comes to sitting next to someone they don't know. I know I'm still about 11 months out from my Wedding day, but I'm starting to think of DIY Seating Chart ideas. I want to make something cute and will probably go shopping this summer for a cute display and keep it stowed away until it's time to do my chart. I just want to know what I'm doing before I do it and have a plan for it. So, if you did/are doing a DIY Seating Chart or Escort Cards, please share pics or inspiration of what you're doing.

I've been collecting wine corks for a long time. Since I am now getting married at a vineyard, I'm going to use those corks and follow this youtube video:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BMrC_qfaW18

Hopefully, I will have enough leftover to make a cork board out of them afterwards (which is why I've been collecting them). This is my one and only DIY. I am actually having my printer print the escort cards themselves.

I prefer escort cards to seating charts as it spreads the names out on a table, easier to find (alphabetical order), and hopefully a line won't form behind the seating table chart.

I am working on this now! I love the mirror trend where you just write it on there. But I am thinking I may just do a frame or something.....just found this on pinterest today:

I wasn't going to do a seating chart but WW is starting to sway me to. I agree with Elizabeth about the escort cards. I'm thinking about using avery.com we print to do them.

I was planning on doing something like this for ours. It would be the favor and the escort card.

@Kathryn Oooh I like that! We are doing S'mores as a favor, most likely. FH has very few opinions on the wedding, but thinks that our favors MUST have chocolate! How are you marking the table you house all the escort cards or are they right where people enter?

I was thinking of doing a round table with a black table cloth. Sit these chocolates on a mirror gold framed tray and for the table centerpiece do a big vase with feathers coming out. Our colors are black and gold and we are having a 1920's vibe going on. I was going to put it right where they enter. I might put a cute sign up but I think it is obvious to people what they are. Haha

@Kathryn they're super cute! Are you doing one chocolate per person or per couple? I've talked to FH about us ordering chocolate truffles.

This was mine. Printed on white cardstock, with black and gold bows (wedding colors), and mounted onto a chalkboard, which I had displaying in my home before the wedding (and plan to put back up once I get all the stuff from the wedding unpacked!) Smiley smile

Guests were listed in alphabetical order, not by table number, which made things SO much easier for them finding their tables.

@Amber we plan to do it Alpha. We've got way too many people to list it by Table number. It would definitely start a crowd and then people would just start sitting wherever. I actually saw something on Pinterest yesterday that was similar to yours but with a mirror.

This is what we did, it had the wedding party and the menu down the middle, printed at staples and mounted it to a piece of foam
