I'd love to see your plus size wedding dresses! I will be starting my dress shopping in July and I'm having a hard time finding dress inspiration online. I'd love to see some plus size dresses that aren't on models. Show me your gorgeous curves, ladies!

Posting a picture of my fiancé with her permission. We're in China where all the sizes are ridiculously small, but she was still able to try on every dress she picked out with no problems they just didn't lace up in the back. We were really worried about this before the appointment as well.

The dress was made to her measurements so I'm not sure what dress size but she says she's usually an 18 street size. Forgive the boob squish she's not wearing the right bra and the dress wasn't laced very tight. Just picked it up two days ago!

Here is a before and after of my gown; I got it at David's Bridal, they had a good amount of plus size gowns to try on. I really wanted sleeves on my gown and had my seamstress add them, partly because we had a winter wedding but also because I'm very self conscious of my arms. I'm a size 18/20 street and a size 20/22 bridal.

I called around the local bridal shops to see if they had a plus size section in their stores, a few did and I was told their selection was decent in size. Some said they had plus size gowns but when pressed they admitted they only had a handful of gowns in size 14. So definitely call ahead and tell them your size and ask what type of options they have.

If you plan on going to DB, I suggest looking online at their plus size selection, writing down the dress number, and calling your local stores to see if they have those in stock in your size range to try on. That's what I did and while they didn't have every dress I wanted to try on in store, they still had a decent selection.

I was also really stressed about finding a gown and waited a long time to try on anything but it was actually pretty fun. I would suggest only one or two people with you to your appointments otherwise it puts too many opinions and pressure on you. My number one word of advice, however, is to NOT BE AFRAID to try on ANY style/silhouette. Articles say that certain styles look "best" on certain body types and that is false. I looked terrible in a ballgown and a-line and looked best in sheath, which is the opposite of what they say it should be. So try on whatever the heck you want! I also would recommend trying on different fabric types and necklines.

    Good luck! Smiley smile

I bought a preowned dress from eBay. The person I got it from had it made. I'm not sure if this is the one. It needs alterations in the bust and sleeve areas. I got a great price and could buy a different one if the alterations don't work out. As you can see I'm a larger plus size. The idea of trying on dresses that don't fit me was a stressor so I was happy to find something I like online.
