Let Me See Your Dresses: Plus Size Edition

This was mine. It's an Allure ballgown. It was gorgeous and perfect. I had such a great experience dress shopping, so much better than I anticipated.

This is from David's bridal. Still not it lol but they had a good selection I'm a size 22 and I pulled maybe 8 dresses ranging from size 22-26

Thank you! It's a Stella York, style 6365. I found quite a few of that designer that I really liked! It was exciting to find plus size dresses that were flattering and fun to try on. And it was under $1000, so even better! It was $900, but since I ordered it the day I looked, they took off 10%.

Size 16 here and the dress is an 18. I had so much fun trying on all the dresses and I have a theory why: because they are actually made for women's bodies. They are fitted to you perfectly, they have all the old school bodices and shapes/ silhouettes and it's like, damn no wonder women looked so good in the past!

I don't have a picture to add but I wanted to say thank you to everyone for posting your pictures. I'm going dress shopping on Wednesday and I've been dreading it a little bit because I'm worried I won't find a dress I love that flatters my body. I'm not at all comfortable with how I look. You have all helped to lift my spirits!

I must stress how important it is to try on many different styles to find what you feel best in. I recommend corset dresses or empire waisted.

This was me 40 pounds ago. I have to get the dress altered. Its an alfred angelo disney princess Bell dress that was discontinued. I bought it off the rack for less than $800.

This was the opposite of what I've always wanted.: until I tried this on. I never imagined wearing this kind of dress. I fell in love with it! I can't wait for the alterations it slimmed my body well and that's what I love about it!

Dress shopping was hard for me until I went to Luxe Bridal in MN. I wanted a simple, no fuss, light weight dress for a low price. They didn't pressure me on budget or type of dress. The woman picked this dress first and said this is your dress. My stubborn butt didn't agree. Well after several dresses...she was right! I wasn't able to try it on in ivory because it is a bridesmaid dress but just got it a couple weeks ago and am so happy! I'm street size 22/24. My dress was ordered in a 28. It was 300 bucks! Good luck!

I am a street size 22/24 ordered dress in a 26 with a corset back from David's Bridal. It's a 2nd wedding for me so I wanted something simple and it was a great price. I was able to put it on layaway and had 2 months to pay it off. Once paid in full they ordered my size and it took about 3 weeks to arrive

This is an Allure gown. The run super small. I normally wear a 16-18 and had to order a 24. I had to wear the smaller size to see the color I wanted. I LOVE this gown.

Mine is an Eddy K. I was actually surprised by all the selections to choose from when I went dress shopping. Excuse my expression in one of them.
