Let me see your flower-less centerpieces!

Kayla, on June 10, 2017 at 10:26 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 26

Hi everyone! I was curious as to whether or not anyone has done decor that was completely flower free. I think we will still be using flowers, but I'm wondering if decor can be done well without them. I'm hoping that I'll see some flower-less ideas, and find a way to make them my own by adding just a few flowers, rather than having all of my decor based around flowers. I'm getting overwhelmed with the cost of hiring a florist, so I'm trying to find ways to still have REAL flowers, without going overboard.

I'm getting married in October and while we will have some flowers, we all also have gourds and baskets of apples for our fall-theme wedding.

Florist cost was such a huge thing for me, I opted to only do the ceremony flowers and a few arrangements [guest book table and memorial table] and did everything else 'real' flower free. However I did make a ton of paper flowers [with help from some amazing family members - so many paper flowers...] and this is what my centerpieces are going to be - each one will have different books used

They'll be closer together, but this is what we came up with for our DW beach wedding.

Our venue provided us with complimentary lanterns that afford a cute vintage look. Don't have pictures, sorry.

We're still far out, but this is our favorite of the centerpieces my venue offers with our package. We're most likely going with a candlescape instead of flowers.

I'm doing flower free! I was originally going to do babies breath but I actually just got an idea that would completely eliminate them. I haven't done them yet but this is my inspiration

The picture cuts off, but those are painted wine bottles

I have 42 tables to get centerpieces for so limiting the florist cost as much as possible. I spent a lot of time planning non-perishable arrangements for 12 of the cocktail tables that I could make ahead. I decided on ostrich feathers. Here is my mock up on a tiny child's table; real one will be larger. Because I aggressively price shopped the arrangements will be $7 a piece when making 12, including the vase.

My venue provides lanterna, wood pieces and I'm just adding a little touch that I made didn't cost much

I don't have pictures but I'm doing bare winter trees on some tables and lanterns on wreaths on other tables. Zero flowers!

Our wedding is outdoors garden style...so I'm doing painted mason jars with battery operated led lights similar to this pic (got pic off the Internet). I'm still undecided whether to use a single stem of real flowers or paper...but either way should be affordable and simple. I'm recycling spaghetti jars for these :p and found the lights on line for less than $2 a piece.

@Claudia Smiley laugh...as you can imagine...I'm running out ways to cook with the sauce so I can hoard the jars.
