Let the Planning Begin

Welcome to Wedding Wire! My wedding was completely rustic DIY too! If your venue is outdoors/ water front you don't need a ton of decor. I'm sure the outdoor space will be plenty of beauty. I had a fully outdoor wedding and wanted my theme of red white and blue to really pop so I hung red white and blue tissue paper pom poms from the trees. It really helped tie the space together. I don't have all my photos back, but here is one from the middle of decorating.

Agree with staying organized. Making a list of the DIY projects is helpful to keep track of what has been done and what still needs to be made. It also ensures you don’t accidentally purchase/make multiples of something you already had done before.

My suggestions are to stay organized and plan ahead. I would also make sure you aren't trying to do too much DYI otherwise you could become very overwhelmed. When my husband and I were engaged, I watched videos from a wedding planner on YouTube. She has a whole Youtube channel dedicated to giving advice to brides. Her recommendation is to not do more than 40% DYI and leave the other 60% to professionals. She said she DYI'd most of her wedding and it was way more work than she ever imagined. Her name is Jamie Wolfer if you want to check out her videos on YouTube. I found her advice very helpful as she has videos on pretty much everything you can imagine.

Hi congrats I love your theme we are doing Rustic Romance diy wedding, my advice is get a binder and create your own planner. I would suggest writing down all of your projects and tackle them one by one, don't overwhelm yourself and enjoy it.
