Here are my wedding cupcakes. They will be set in a tower with a small 6 inch cake on top. The cake will have purple fondant with dregs to match the cupcakes. The cupcakes and small cake for 65 people cost me $285.00. Not to shabby.
We are doing 3 cupcake flavors- here are the coconut and the salted caramel. We are also doing marble with butter cream frosting tinted to match our wedding colors.
We are also having a 6 inch cutting cake the will be the coconut flavored. The butter cream on it will be an ombre affect fading from white on top to pale yellow on bottom. (ours will just be 1 layer round, not 2 layer square)
opps- forgot to say $275 for 8 dz cupcakes and our cutting cake. But we are picking them up and setting them up at the venue ourselves.
Here is what our cake looks like but our color will be cobalt blue. It will cost 660.00 but has fresh raspberries with white and milk chocolate mousse filling. All ingedients from europe. This cake is amazing to eat and so moist it melts in your mouth. Not having a dry typical wedding cake was a must for us we were willing to pay for quality
The inside was marble with an icing (don't remember what kind) and white fondant that actually tasted really good. We were so surprised - I was always told how awful fondant tasted but the stuff on our cake was fantastic.

Here is a bad cell phone picture of the way the venue sets up the cake. Our cake is included in our package. My cake will have fall color daisies on it (and in the glasses under it) and there will be fake fall leaves laying under the cake instead of ferns.
My cake was absolutely free! (well, we bought the ingredients) My SIL designed and made it for us as a wedding gift. It would have costed at least $200. The bottom layer alone was enough to feed approx. 50 people.
We had four tiers of carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. For 60 people, it was $300.
Cate is doing chocolate chip with buttercream filling and frosting and yellow cake with buttercream filling and frosting. Here is her inspiration. The only difference will be the type of flowers. Her florist is coming in to cover it with hydrangea. Her pedestal is 22 inches. She is supposed to have 4 tiers. The cake is from a local baker and sells for $3.25 a slice, however, it is included with her venue. She is boxing it because they are having a Viennese table. Italians love to take cake home.
There is a cake shop here that specializes in gourmet cake flavors, my sister did 12 at her wedding each in a different flavor (Pumpkin, Snicker, Black & White, etc.) and those went over VERY well for her. I am doing 8 8" round cakes which will feed 96 for $208, and then my grandmother on my moms side is also going to make a cake as she decorates cake. Plus we are having apple and pumpkin pie, and will have a candy bar!
Here is what our cake will look like. The ribbons will be plum. Two layers will be square and the other two will be round. Bottom layer will be chocolate cake with baci filling (think nutella), second layer from the bottom will be vanilla cake with a lemon mousse, and the top two layers will be vanilla cake with duche de leche cream.
