What songs have (or did, for the married women on here) you ladies choose for your ceremony and reception? For my first dance with FH, it's a tie between For You I Will by Monica and You & I by Avant and Keke Wyatt. But I'm not sure what songs I should choose for the other events during the reception, like the garter toss, bouquet throw, and cake cutting. Any suggestions?

What is on your ladies play list for the reception? What about your do not play list? Mine would consist of R&B songs, fun oldie songs, high energy dance songs, and fun 80s music. So I guess a mixed bag of music?

Bridal procession - The Piano Guys 'A Thousand Years' (piano/cello version of Christina Perry's)

Recessional - Pharrel 'Happy' and we danced our way down the aisle!

First dance - Christina Perry 'A Thousand Years'

Father/daugher - Zac Brown Band 'Highway 20 Ride' a song about my dad traveling miles and miles to see me when I was growing up

Mother/son - Israel 'IZ' Kamakawiwo'ole 'Wonderful world/Somewhere over the rainbow'

Anniversary dance - We didn't end up doing this BUT if we did, we chose my fiance's parents wedding song.

Last song - Adam Sandler 'Grow old with you' - this was a surprise from my fiance to me.

Our reception will be like r&b and hopefully anything that guests want to hear that doesn't bore me to tears prior to like 930ish and then we will switch over into dance party mode... FloRida, Tiao Cruz, David Guetta, etc.

The only songs I wouldn't want are from Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Billy Ray Cyrus. Rebecca Black. Those are on my do not play list.

We didn't do any instrumental versions, although I did edit down the beginning of my song so we could get right in to it.

Processional: Love is a Verb / John Mayer

    Bride: Sweet Child O' Mine / Gn'R

Recessional: Accidentally in Love / Counting Crows

First Dance: Easy to Love You / Theory of a Deadman

Father/Daughter: When You Need Me / Bruce Springsteen

    Mother/Son: Simple Man / Shinedown

Garter Toss: Another One Bites The Dust / Queen (because it was funny. The bouquet toss and cake cutting were so quick I didn't think we needed songs for them).

We did an iPod playlist instead of a DJ since we had an afternoon wedding and figured people wouldn't be dancing too much. I had a pre-ceremony playlist with slow, sweet music like Ray Lamontagne, Ryan Adams, Damien Rice, John Mayer, etc. The we had a little bit of everything to play during lunch and finally a dance playlist with a bunch of old school jams.

Is a violinist too quiet for the ceremony?
