Let's talk eyebrows

Allie, on June 23, 2019 at 3:39 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 27

I know a lot of us obsess over our hair, makeup, and nails, but what's the plan for your eyebrows?? Is your makeup artist filling them in for you? How close to the wedding are you getting them waxed? I've had my makeup done before but they've never touched my eyebrows. I see a lot more people having them filled in these days though. What's your eyebrow plan?

    Great topic!

I haven't had them done professionally in a long time. Never done waxing, only threading. I will be tweezing them tonight, wedding is Tuesday. I will fill them in with eyebrow powder but I won't use pencil or anything. I am trying to go for a more natural / less makeup look as much as possible.

Mine are naturally thick and dark, so I just plan to make sure they're plucked before the wedding and then I have this Urban Decay eyebrow gel that's meant to just kind of keep them in place and fill them out eeeeeever so slightly more.

I will use some sort of gel or something so they stand out in the photos, but for me, personally, I don't like a super dark heavy brow. I think it looks like magic marker on me because I'm relatively fair-skinned and I just want it to look more soft and subtle, but stilled prominent enough for picks.

I always fill them in since they go from a darker brown to very light blonde that it looks like I have half an eyebrow lol So filled in professionally for sure (which can look startling if you aren’t used to that) but not thick. And then waxing about 2 days before (I don’t wax often, but enough to know I get a bit red and puffy until the next day then I’m fine). 😊

I am getting mine waxed or threaded a week before wedding. Are you all getting a spray tan? When are you doing that? I got my nails two days before my brows a week before. Then the makeup artist will do her thing.

Honestly, I don’t really do anything with my eyebrows except pluck the occasional stray. They are naturally dark and pretty thick, and I see nothing wrong with their shape so it’s just too much extra effort to bother much with them. I haven’t decided on hiring a MUA, I’d like to if it’s in the budget, so I’ll either get their opinion or possibly do a make-up consult at Sephora if I decide to DIY. I don’t want a super dramatic make-up look, just something fairly subtle that will photograph well.

I normally fill in my eyebrows with pencil with my daily make up routine. But I make it look pretty natural. I will get them waxed a couple days prior. Pluck any strays the day of. When I got my make up done for the engagement pictures, I was not a fan of what she did to my eyebrows. She made them much darker than I am used to. So I will make sure the MUA I hire knows what I was this time lol. For my engagement photos, I had never had make up professionally done before. I was too shy to tell her what I liked and didn't like. Learned my lesson.

    Thank you!

I feel the same way as you about dark eyebrows btw. On me it looks really unnatural.

I'm getting mine waxed. I think it's so relaxing, to be honest. Don't really see myself grtting them penciled in too much or even at all.

I have (dyed) red hair and really dark brown brows (which also doesn't match my natural hair color). I once had a MUA at an Ulta event pencil red into my brows and I really liked it (after the initial shock wore off). It was a really dramatic look so definitely not for daytime. I haven't been able to replicate it, but hope my wedding MUA can.

I will most likely get my eyebrows threaded on the Monday before my Saturday wedding. I always fill them in; natural look, not overdone.

I've had to tell makeup artists that I'll do my eyebrows myself in the past because they just go overboard sometimes. Thankfully, I liked how my eyebrows came out for my trial so I'm ok with my MUA doing it.

I picked my makeup artist based off of how people’s eyebrows looked in on her instagram! On the day of we spent extra time perfecting them and I was so happy! Just be honest about expectations and priorities

I’m going to ring my own bell. I’m blessed. I’ve never done anything to my eyebrows, not plucked waxed nothing and I get compliments all the time! So luckily I don’t have to do anything. I personally am not a fan of drawn on or filled in or anything

Mine are pretty dark and thick as is. I’ll probably have them filled with a powder, and I plan to have them waxed 3-4 days ahead

I’ll have mine waxed a week or so before the wedding. My MUA will just fill them in a bit. I’m not a huge fan of overly filling in eyebrows. It looks unnatural on me.

Girl, I am SO glad I'm not the only one who obsesses over their eyebrows. They are literally the ONLY thing I am doing myself as far as my wedding day makeup, as nobody does them exactly the way I like. I have never gotten them waxed, but I do pluck them myself. I am super picky about them, but then again they do frame the face and are extremely important!

I always wax and pluck but since I don't normally wear makeup, I've never had them penciled in. I've seen a lot of girls on instagram filling them in dark and making them look really square in the center so I'm terrified of that look haha. I may practice some and do it myself or just leave them alone.
