Letting Bridesmaids Pick their own dresses?

Has anyone just given the bridesmaids a swatch of the color you want and told them a length and let them have at it? What were your results? Do you have pictures? I really just want all my girls to be comfortable and happy with their choices and then they can spend as little or as much as they want....

    This is what I want to do - my ladies all have different tastes (but good taste!) and body types, so I'd like them to be able to pick something they feel comfortable and attractive in. Smiley smile

    I let mine pick...I gave the color and length and they picked what looked best on them...and now, they're all happy. I'm also letting them pick their own shoes.

    Yes but they ended up buying the same dress. The convertible infinity dress. They will be wearing it differently of course but they'll both be comfortable in their own styles

    I gave them a colour range and length, they all decided on the same dress but in different colours (shades of purple)

    I let my girls pick their own dresses. The only criteria I gave them was, a shade of grey and floor length. They can pick fabric, style and fit. They all have different shapes and I want them to be happy and comfortable with the dress.
