Letting your groom see your before the ceremony?

We saw each other before the ceremony. We had a DW so we woke up together, went to breakfast together and then went out seperate ways to get ready. We met up again about 2 hours before the ceremony for a "first look" and to do pictures with parents and the bridal party. We had a limited time after the ceremony to do pictures before sunset and wanted to be sure to get the photos of just the two of us at that time without being rushed.
I am so glad we did it that way. We would have been so rushed and would not have gotten the photos we wanted if we didn't see each other before the ceremony.

Yes we’re doing a first look. It gives us time to get most of our pictures done before the ceremony so we can enjoy cocktail hour and spend as much time as possible with our guests

I don't plan to see FW the day of the wedding until the first look. I don't believe that it's bad luck or anything like that, I just think it's a sweet tradition and I think it'll be fun to build the suspense.

PS friendly reminder that not everyone on WW is a bride or will have a groom. Same sex couples may want to follow the tradition as well!

We did our first look in a more public spot in the resort because the photographer recommended it for lighting purposes. So our bridal party and parents were off to the side (not close enough to hear but close enough to see) and watching. Which we were totally fine with. If you want a more personal first look moment i know a few people who have gone to a private space where no one else is around except the photographer to have that emotional moment just between the two of them.

We have decided to not see each other before the ceremony. We live together but after breakfast will go our separate ways to start getting ready. I want for the first time seeing me to be walking down the aisle to him. To me it makes it more emotional.

I wanted to have a first look so we wouldn't be as rushed on the photos. However, it's important to my fiance to see me for the first time walking down the aisle. I know it will make the moment much more special and emotional.

I want my FH to see me for the first time walking down the aisle.

My FH requested to not see me the day of the wedding until the ceremony. So I booked a room for me to stay in the night before. I'm going to invite my mom and some of my BMs to stay with me the night before, but only if they want to. I'm not going to require that anyone stay with me.

We are having a first look because were having a taco bar during cocktail hour and we wanna stuff our faces then! 😀

He doesn't want to see me before the ceremony. I want to see him before. Compromise, We are going to out put near each other to touch and talk but not see. I personally think its perfect for us!!!

He's not going to see me until I'm walking down the aisle with my father. I want the moment we first see each other to be shared with all of our loved ones.

I'm sending my FH off with his parents to stay in their hotel the night before. We are doing a first look before the ceremony... Which is mostly to calm his nerves. And we can do some of the family photos before because my family hates waiting around.

I dont want my FH to see me until i walk down the aisle. My plan is to make him cry the minute he sees me.!! I also believe it is bad luck!

I feel most people do a first look these days. We aren't though, even though its so practical and is great to just bang out those photos and get to be part of the whole cocktail hour but for us, seeing each other as a bride and groom, as I go down the aisle, is really important for us and something we are excited about.
