Limited Bar Drink Choices

Melissa, on July 3, 2011 at 1:44 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 5

I've decided on having a limited bar for my wedding. We are renting a private venue that allows you to bring in your own alcohol. We are going to choose one red wine, one white wine, 2 types of beer (one light and one regular), and 3 mixed signature drinks to put on the drink menu. My wedding is being held in November 2012 and going to be autumn themed with red, orange, and yellow colors.

I'd like to pick mixed drinks that will both offer variety in liquor (one vodka, one tequila, etc.) but also match our wedding theme. I need ideas as to what mixed drinks to choose. (I do want to have a rum and coke/whiskey option but I'm not including that as a signature drink.)

So far I'm thinking about an Arnold Palmer made with sweet tea vodka for one choice. (Would you prefer Long Island Ice Tea or an Arnold Palmer?) I'd like to have an apple cider-isk mixed drink too. Does anyone have ideas for a good one? Or an idea of what I should pick as my third sig drink?

I too, am doing somewhat of a limited bar. IMO I would choose Long Island Iced Tea!

If it's not too late, I think I'd change to 3 beers if you can afford it - I don't know beers that well so excuse the non-technical terms, but I'd do one lighter-colored beer, a darker-colored beer and then the lite beer. (I just know some people prefer the taste of one over the other!)

I have never had an alcoholic Arnold Palmer, but I'm now thinking of all the possibilities. Smiley smile I don't think you can go wrong with that or the Long Island Iced Tea!

Perhaps for your third drink you could do something to go with dessert - like "Irish Coffee" or something with baileys!

How about something the lines of a pomegranate mojito or a spiced orange rum punch?

A Tequila Sunrise would be in your color palate. But if you just want something yummy how about Midori Sours?
