Limited Favors

What kind of favors are they? Usually not all get taken anyway so it may be okay.

If you definitely want to divvy them up, you could put nametags on them that say "the XYZ family" and use them along with a seating chart

They are glass coasters

Is it one set of coasters(2 or more) per family or is it one single coaster per family? If it is just one coaster that would be really weird to have a family share one coaster. I would just put them on a table by the entrance/exit and say take one. If they run out then they run out.

I'd just leave them on a table somewhere for people to take. Chances are not everyone would take them

If it's just one coaster per family, I would definitely do what PP's suggested, arrange all of them in a basket near the exit and if they take them, they take them, if they're gone, they're gone! Most people will probably assume that a few guests took more than one if you run out

Do you not have time to order more?

I'd put them all on one table off to the side - it can be first come, first served. A lot of people don't take favors at weddings anyway so you're honestly probably fine with just the 70 you ordered!

I did coasters too. I have one per person, not per couple b/c I felt weird putting one per two people. I only ordered 65 and we have 83 people coming. I just ordered more today, they'll arrive one week before the wedding. Do you have time to order more?

You could use the coaster for your table assignments, Label them somehow with "Mr. & Mrs. John Doe Table 1" and set them out on a table by the entryway. Kills two birds with one stone.

Just hope for the best! I would let people just take whatever and when they’re gone they’re gone! I always heard that many people don’t take favors.. we aren’t even doing them
