Limo alternatives ?!

Soon to be Mrs. B, on January 19, 2016 at 9:43 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 10

Is anybody renting a limo for transportation to their ceremony and after? We will need transportation for ourselves as well as for the bridal party in order to take pictures . What are you ladies using ..? I'm interested in any alternative ideas.

I've seen so many cool ideas! I'm not sure where you're located but in the Chicago area (suburbs, not city) for the same price as a limo, I've been looking at a Party bus, a Packard!, a Fleet of black teslas! (3), and a weekend exotic car rental!

We wanted the Packard but Since we are low budget & our colors are blue/white, we may do a weekend viper rental from a car share club Smiley smile you get it for 2 days for a few hundred & the bridal party would follow in a standard limo or something. But my guy is a total car man so it's going to be a special surprise for him. & the boys can have fun driving around before the wedding. Smiley smile

Check busrates.com . they will show options for limos, buses, etc in your town and email you quotes for the businesses you select.

Trolleys are super popular now for the bridal party!

Not us. Neither one of us wanted to mess with a limo or anything special honestly. We'll probably just be using FH's car.

Let me also add that I was in a wedding that did not hire transportation but appointed 4 people from the bridal party to drive. It made things very hectic since the ceremony, pictures, and reception were all at least a 20 minute drive from each other. So I would caution breaking your group up, we ended up waiting on people for pictures and had no time to relax in the bridal suite before entering the reception.

I didn't want to break the group up so we had a trolley. The guys drove to the church with another guest and the girls took the trolley then the trolley took us all back downtown after. A lot of hotels offer shuttles within a certain mile radius, consider looking into that if you have a hotel block somewhere.

We are using a school bus to transport our guests between ceremony/reception/hotel. This may be overkill if you're only using it for the bridal party but it's still something to think about!
