Limo... who rides with you?

SusieQue, on April 23, 2018 at 11:27 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 23
Anyone riding alone in limo to ceremony? My mother in law insists that I ride alone and when I arrive the ceremony will begin.

Usually from what I’ve hesrd by other brides I know , they’ve usually ride with the the person who will walk them down the aisle and after the ceremony is over the bridal party and the groom rides with the bride to the reception

Whoever you want! The weddings that I've been in, we have been in the limo (if there was one) with the bride. I would be way too anxious to be alone.

Last time I was a bridesmaid we rode with her and her dad. We got out, her and her dad stayed in until the last minute.

Are you not taking any pictures at the ceremony venue beforehand? I've honestly never known anyone to arrive at the ceremony location literally right as it starts, normally the bride and groom are there doing pictures, even without a first look.

I’ll be riding with my mom who is my moh, and my grandma and my aunt. They aren’t in the wedding, but they are older and we are flying them to Hawaii specifically for the wedding. The boys are on their own lol

I will be arriving right before we start and doing pictures after the ceremony. It’s a beach wedding so that’s how they set it up.

I rode with my dad. It was really nice to have that time with him (yeah, I’m a Dad’s girl!).

We didn't take pictures at the church before the ceremony. We took some after the ceremony but most of our pictures were done at the hotel before the ceremony.
My bridal party and me drove to the church together in a vintage car. After the ceremony my DH and I drove back to the hotel in the vintage car for the reception.

I wouldn't want to be alone! I think you can ride with whomever you want, your bridal party, your dad, your pick. NOT you FMILs pick.

Yea the thing is my fiancé’s side is very traditional mine not so much. No one on my side had a wedding they all got married in a courthouse and had receptions so I don’t really have a blueprint of what a wedding should be. My MIL had been really instrumental in helping as far as what I should do or advising me, but I just feel a little uneasy about riding alone... my father will not be able to make it due to medical reasons and my wedding is in another country. I was moreso concerned about my bridesmaids getting to the ceremony but she said she will take care of that and I should ride alone.

I wouldn't want to ride by myself, I'd stress myself out too much. This is a personal decision for you, it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks, including FMIL. If you want to ride with a family member or your BMs then go for it. If you want that time to yourself to take it all in then do that. What will make you most comfortable?

Riding by yourself sounds awful. Ask whomever you would like to be with you

I wouldn't want to ride alone. Especially after spending so much time with my BMs getting ready.

Yea I figured since my dads ILL and can’t travel I wouldn’t want to ride alone I’d prefer to ride with my mom, sister and bridesmaids... but when I mentioned that my MIL and finance said that’s not how it’s supposed to go and that they would provide transportation to my bridal party while I rode alone.
