Limo?

Briana, on March 22, 2021 at 11:09 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 6

Hi everyone! I could definitely use some help/thoughts. My ceremony and venue are at the same place, me, my fh, immediate family, and bridal party will be taking pictures at a location 10 minutes from our hotel where we are getting ready, and 20 min from our venue. At first we were thinking maybe everyone should just drive themselves, but the bridal party consists of 18 people + me and my fh = 20. Our family will follow the limo but I'm thinking maybe it's easiest to get all 20 of us to the site and venue with transportation like a limo or party bus? When I asked a limo company for their rates they mentioned dropping the groomsmen off at the picture site then swinging back to pick up me and the girls and then going to pictures. He would then have all of us go together to the venue.. Now I know that my FH and I will be doing a first look..but should we be in the limo together on the way to the venue? How will fh and I get back to the hotel? We have a shuttle but do we take the shuttle? Shouldn't we stay at the venue a little longer than our guests? How do people normally do this?

Does the hotel offer a shuttle? Take advantage of that. Be aware that limo/party bus rentals are often 2 hrs minimum. Use your own transportation or the hotel shuttle.

The shuttle is only for people from the hotel to the venue and from the venue to the hotel, it wouldn't stop where the picture location will be.

I think the guy’s idea is perfect. It gets everyone to one location at the same time. As far as you & your FH in the same limo- what’s the problem with that? Are there specific times the shuttle runs? Stay with your guests as long as you can then take the shuttle to your hotel.

So I feel like you have a few separate scenarios happening here that you need transport for. I wouldn't have bridal party drive themselves, it ends up being a lot of cars and probably more hassle then you want to deal with. Maybe you can look into some sort of mini bus scenario, so you can get 2 of them and one take all the girls, one take all the guys from getting ready to ceremony. Then maybe a party bus for everyone to go to photos and back. Those are always a ton of fun. As for after the reception back to your hotel, I would just use the shuttles and I don't think there's any rules on when you and your FH need to leave, maybe you can even arrange a later shuttle for the two of you with your hotel.

I would also say talk to the transportation companies you're looking into. They might be able to give you different suggestions on what works best for you and some sort of deal if you end up using a party bus longer or if you use them for buses and cars or whatever you decide.

Hi Brianna! Can you find a big party bus that will drop you all off together? Or you could do a smaller shuttle that takes the guys in one trip and the girls in the next trip!

Our hotel / venue had a small shuttle bus that our wedding party & family members were able to use, but we rented two small shuttles to get everyone around for the rehearsal and following dinner! Transportation rates can be really expensive and frequently have 4 hour minimums, but they make the logistics of the day SO much easier. 🌟

From my experience, we used two black cars and two sprinter vans to get to the venue. Most companies have an option for you to rent the limo with a chauffeur for the number of hours that you need. If you do hourly, you can stop anywhere you'd like. We used this company https://mayflowerlimo.com/. I think you should be transported in a black car, and the rest of your friends should be in a sprinter.
