Line dance songs at the reception - yea or nay?

I don’t enjoy line dancing but they are fairly crucial icebreakers at receptions, I went to a Wedding that didn’t have them and no one really danced too much.

Agreed, the electric slide gets everyone on their feet!

Maybe one or two strategically placed to get the crowd going. Other than that, I don't really enjoy them. Especially the ones that never end, like ok it's 6 minutes, I know this song has an ending, I've heard it before...

I honestly never get tired of the cha cha slide..

I feel like you have to have a couple line dances!

I requested Cupid Shuffle! I love that and the Cha Cha slide. The others are meh

I had pretty much any one you could think of (I think they're a blast) and we had so many people on the dance floor dancing to them!

Even my FIL (who has only danced to Garba, an Indian dance) got on the floor and learned the macarena! It was so much fun to see him learn it and he ROCKED it and was grinning from ear to ear!

My group also LOVES the cha-cha slide (the floor was completely packed) and my friend group has a running joke with the wobble, so I couldn't NOT play it, but a lot of people were on the floor for that too!

Honestly, I think the times the dance floor had the absolute most people were during the line dances!

While I do secretly love the wobble... I was a firm NO on all line dances for our wedding reception! My husband was definitely out on them as well!

A few years ago I attended a dry afternoon wedding reception with legit country line dancing and it was my nightmare! I could have some fun with any kind of dancing at a wedding, but line dancing sober was a step too far for me!

LOL! I feel like the Macarena is one of those songs that everyone hates but once it's playing everyone is up and dancing!

Line dancing gets the ice broken for dancing. Cupid Shuffle is the best one and The Wobble! Even at my age of 40...my friends love it and will be expecting it. Plus I have 6 kids in my wedding so I will definitely be having line dancing. I had a friend who didn't want it at her wedding. All the guests were disappointed they really wanted to line dance.

Omg yes, the Cotton Eye Joe I feel like never ends! I did it the other weekend and was out of breath by the end of it, lol!
