Linen colors or white?

SoontoBeMrsBatdorf, on October 22, 2015 at 11:28 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 16

Trying to figure out what would look the best. All white/ivory table linens and skirts or white with color overlays or color table cloths. What'd you do or are you doing?

I did white table cloths with black table runners and black napkins. With then purple flower pedals sprinkled down the table. I personally thin white/ivory table cloths is a nice elegant clean look. I've seen colors table over lays or runners with white and it looks really nice a good pop of color without over doing it.

For me it came down to price and my theme. My caterer includes color linens for free and I'm having an ombre purple kind of them. So I'm doing color but I love the look of classic white linens as well. You can't go wrong either way!

We did colored tablecloths with colored runners.

I agree price is a consideration-- our venue also provided colored table cloths, and we got the runners on sale. I also think it depends on the rest of the decor/ambience at your venue-- ours was in a merry-go-round pavilion, so white would have looked really plain.

I would have gone straight white/ivory but I got our linens on such a good sale that I'm having aqua/turquoise on our 11 round tables and also on our square outdoor tables as well. I will probably have a harder time reselling them but I think the extra color will be great in our venue.

We're doing cream table clothes with colored napkins. Price made that decision for us.

My venue will provide white or ivory table cloths and colored napkins. I think I will be doing half Ivory and buying half in blush color with grey napkins

Colored linens. Our main color is navy, so I am hoping for some elegant navy tablecloths for the guest tables, and will pick something unique for the main table.

I wanted the venue to feel cozy and romantic so I did dark navy table cloths and grey napkins. My venue provided white table cloths but they weren't very nice, super short and just not working with my vision. I got them on a wicked deal though! It was $10 cheaper per table cloth than renting.

I think whites look lighter and cleaner and almost roomier, if that makes sense. Like they can kind of trick the eye into thinking there's more space. So I might be biased, but we went with white table cloths, sparkly dark gray runners, and light gray napkins. Our sweetheart table matched the runners on the guest tables.

My venue provides white or ivory linens. We are going to add color with the centerpieces, candles, napkins (which we will purchase). Another bride on here mentioned Quick Candles & when Inchecked out their site, they have amazing stuff for great prices.

It totally depends on your venue. Mine was tent-like with mostly white walls and was in bad need of some color, so we did navy tablecloths with striped orange and white runners. When I see a just white table cloth I kind of think a restaurant. I would definitely do some kind of colored runner/napkins if you're going to do a white tablecloth.

Since our colors are turquoise, orange and gold, I decided to get turquoise overlays to go over Ivory table clothes with Ivory napkins. The venue is providing the Ivory clothes and I am going through them to rent the overlays. Full length color table clothes would have been too expensive so I went for the second best option (overlays) that would bring the needed pop of color into the room.

My venue provides white, black or sand linens. I'm doing white underlay with sand overlay and moss able runner. The sand looked so much better with the moss and our gold chargers and bottles, I was surprised. I'm usually and black or white type of gal.

I went with ivory tablecloths and napkins because the venue provided them at no charge. I got navy and white striped table runners to add a little something, plus I know I can re-sell them to recoup some of the cost. Our venue had some ornate architecture, so I didn't feel like I needed to jazz it up much.

Our venue includes a few basic colors for our tablecloth selection. We are going with black, purely because the venue chairs are a champagne/ gold color that in my opinion looks dirty next to a white or ivory table cloth. Normally I love the look of an ivory or white table cloth

I personally like nude colors for table linens and adding the pop of color in the flowers and decorations. I am using ivory linens with either a tan napkin or maroon napkin to accent my navy blue bridesmaid dresses!
