Linen crisis for reception

Mob For Keely & Aaron, on September 5, 2019 at 3:02 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 5
I went today to order tables for the head table that the venue does not have, as I was showing on my phone pictures of the venue for her to see where we wanted the tables, I looked at the linens in one picture and realized how short they were. The lady helping me said I needed to call the caterer ( the venues in house service). Well the answer was they did not have floor length nor round. The venue has 72 inch rounds and cocktail tables.
I still remember being asked at the tasting what color linen we wanted, I also remember the sales person for the venue said the caterer had all the linens too. They failed to mention they were not floor length or even were made for the size and shape of the tables. I am 3 weeks and a few days out. What can I do? Please tell me what is a great linen to purchase that is fairly economical and will not be so wrinkly. I have heard crinkle cut is great. It’s been a nightmare but pushing through. I am not upset but was counting on the linens in our budget.

I’m a bit confused by your post. None the less, find a local place to rent linens. If you buy they will need time to ship and will be wrinkly so you’ll be ironing or steaming away. If you rent, the linens will be nicely pressed. Check with your venue/caterer/whatever (or DOC) to make certain they will lay whatever linens you bring because you do not want to be setting tables on your wedding day.
If all of the above is not looking possible, then let it go. Unless you’re using dollar store thin plastic linens at a black tie wedding no one is going to notice this like you are now.

There are affordable linens you can buy online but unfortunately you’re out of time. The rush fee would eat up any savings and there’s no sales going on right now. You would end up paying far more than just renting them.

I am trying to find out what type of linen is easy on the budget but not a nightmare to steam out. I see Lamour, crinkle taffeta, there are different fabrics. Trying to find a way to solve this without it going overboard.

I think at this point you need to look at renting the linens because you don't have enough time to buy them. I rented my ivory silk linens at an event rental company 2 weeks before my wedding.

Given your time frame girl I would rent!!! That way you don't have to worry about steaming and making sure the linens aren't wrinkled. Ask your venue/ caterer for a local rental company they work with.
