Lingerie shower!?!?

My friends who threw me a Bachelorette party incorporated a lingerie giving portion and I've been to a handful like that as well. It's usually pretty tame in my circle, like nice robes and nighties. We play a game with it where everyone writes down one adjective and one animal, and then the bride draws a random adjective and a random animal to name the outfit.

I had one. It was lots of fun, but be warned-- you will be a TON of teddies, as few people (at least in my set) seemed willing to be more daring than that-- even though it was a fickin' lingerie shower!

They're a big deal down here. I've been and thrown them. I didn't want one, though - too self-conscious.

Gifts can extend beyond lingerie to toys, bath stuff, and pretty much anything sensual.

I went to one and it was so much fun!

FMIL offered to throw me a lingerie party.. That got a big hell no from me haha. I don't want my FMIL knowing what I'm wearing with her son. Gross. I'd rather buy them myself.

I've attended and thrown a few of these. It's always just the bride's girlfriends who get invited. I try to take the bride's taste into account when shopping for a gift, but always include a gift receipt so the bride can return the gift if she doesn't like it or needs a different size. All the invites I've ever gotten specify the bride's underwear sizes, but sometimes sizes vary from brand to brand and the bride needs a different size.

It can be a lot of fun! You'll either get stuff you like that you may not have considered for yourself, or you'll get a good laugh at all the ridiculous stuff you will be exchanging later.

A friend of mine just had a fun get together before her wedding and the girls filled a piñata with undies and camisoles. It was cute.

I would only do it for a Bachelorette party. My cousin had one for her wedding shower and my mom had to buy her lingerie... Awkward for everyone involved.

We did the same game @LizzyS mentioned- pro tip of you do this- make a key for yourself. The friend we did this for said the only problem was her DH picked off the list and she couldn't remember which we'd named what.

I hope to have one. Marital sex is a beautiful, biblical thing and I personally wouldn’t mind having my grandma and great aunt and Mom and sisters attend because they are All my closest friends ❤️ I only have a few other close friends…it’s good to get “wisdom” from those whom you trust! 😅❤️
