Lip color blues

Rylie, on September 7, 2021 at 6:20 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 11
I am doing my own make-up for my wedding. I am going for a natural look since I dont wear heavy make-up nor do I wear make-up all the time. I want to wear a matte lip but I'm not sure on what color I should choose. I'm having peach as one of my wedding colors and do not know if I should go with peach hues, pinks, or nudes. Or even like light berry hues. Im slightly fair skinned, I usually go for the second or sometimes third lightest foundation hue, but I don't want to look washed out or look as though I have nothing on my lips.

Any suggestions?Lip color blues 1
This is my Fiancé and I. I have like almost a peachy pink hue on in this picture, but not sure if i should choose a shade darker or one thats different.

I think the shade you have on looks really pretty. It looks very sweet and definitely has the natural style you are going for. What does your dress look like?

I have yet to even look for a dress. But it will likely be white with some lace embellishment.

I'm a little paler than you, but one colour that seems to suit everyone is Bobbi Brown - Sandwash pink.

It is the colour Kate Middleton wore on her wedding day, and just seems to photograph really well.

In terms of longer-lasting colour, I would suggest going into sephora and checking out their liquid lipsticks, as they last REALLY well and aren't too pricy. At the other end of the spectrum, Chanel's rouge allure ink is another long-lasting lipstick range, and has many really nice neutral pinks.

I think the shade you have on in the picture looks lovely on you! If you want other options to compare though, go into Sephora! I’ve always found their consultants to be very sweet and helpful- just let them know you are looking for a shade for your wedding day (and any other features you would like-matte, shiny, liquid, long-lasting, non-transferable, etc.) and they will make suggestions. You can try on as many samples as you’d like, and take pics of them so you can easily compare them!

Your skin tone looks warm in this picture, so I would stay away from berries, as they tend to be a cooler color. Peaches, light pinks, would be your friend!

I just picked this up when I saw what you suggested. This would look good on her as well! Such a pretty shade!

I highly recommend Maybelline's New York Superstay Matte Inc Liquid Lipstick. You can buy it on Amazon for like $10. It lasts forever, even stays after eating and drinking! Based on what you are looking for I'd say choose the lightest color they have. That is what I am using for our wedding day!

It really is. And sometimes in the past I've looked at in the mirror and thought, meh, it's not that good, and then I've taken a photo of myself and been blown away. It looks BETTER in photos than in real life, and it looks really nice in real life.
