Did anyone on here have to obtain a liqour license for their venue? Was the process easy?

I did not have to obtain a liquor license, as our venue already has one, but we did have to pay for insurance for it b/c we were not using our venue's bar services and we hired a friend of a friend for much cheaper. Since we are not using their bartender, the one we hired had to provide their license. My state doesn't require bartenders to be licensed but our venue requires any outside bartender to be licensed, and luckily our bartender was already licensed.

I did find this while looking up how to obtain one for you. It's from Wedding Wire from 2011. I hope this helps!

We need a liquor license but also a bartender. So we are having the company acquire that. Is that an option for you?

Your bartender is taking care of it for you?

Yes, they are. We needed a licensed bartender too so it’s a process they’re handling all at the same time. They’re also catering so that’s another license they need 😂 Different cities/venues have different requirements for the application. The liquor license for us needs so much information for the liquor provider that only the bartending/catering company can provide.

Hopefully it'll work for you! I can't guarantee it will but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Typically whatever company you hire to bar-tend should have a liquor license even if you are providing them the liquor that's given out. my friend had a bar wedding in which she supplied the alcohol but who she hired as bartenders handled the licensing and insurance.
