Little known money saving tips - Let's share!

Kimber, on August 30, 2019 at 2:48 PM Posted in Planning 1 10

I recently found out you can save money by buying forever stamps on ebay! Currently stamps are priced $0.55 each, but you can get forever stamps for as little as $0.385 each on ebay. What interesting money saving tips have you found that aren't as well known

Use the Honey extension on google chrome/iPhone app store if you plan on online shopping for decor and stuff
It automatically finds the best promo codes for most websites.

Put purchases on credit cards to rack up the points (and have a track record of receipts) then pay it off the next month so you don’t get dinged any fees.

I learned postcard stamps cost less than regular stamps so that's why some people make their RSVP as postcards instead.

I use ebates... Now Rakuten and actually get money back from it. I log onto Rakuten then search for my store and purchase. They give a certain % cash back. You can also link up a credit or debt card and get the cash back if u purchase in store or put a chrome extension on Google Chrome so u don't have to go to Rakuten first.

If you are an educator, show your school ID at Michaels and A.C. Moore for a 15% discount on your purchase (including sales items). Great for DIY stuff. I echo using both Honey and Ratuken. It adds up. Also if your are ordering online and you have not before sign up for their email and there are typically 5-20% off your first order coupons!

    Research, research, research!

I was looking to buy items from local brides on FB Marketplace but lots of times they were asking for retail price. Before I inquired, I always checked on retail sites for similar items first to make sure I wasn't paying more than needed.

Yes! I was going to by sparklers from a lady but they were only $10 more online and I didn’t have to drive 30 mins away at rush hour to meet her which would have ended up costing me more then $10 in gas.

Right?!? I went to buy a cake stand from a girl that was asking for retail price. When I showed her the screenshot from Amazon with a cheaper price, with free shipping because we have Prime, she brought her price down.
