Little things not to forget

Summer, on March 12, 2011 at 11:13 PM Posted in Planning 0 20

So, with wedding on the brain lately I have started looking around at "stuff" and found the cutest little mailbox for cards at the reception.... and I had not thought about it before! Beyond the obvious, what other "little" things/details should not be forgotten, but are not usually on the top of the list of things to do/buy/set up?

Thats awesome Smiley smile I was just talking to FS about this... he says I have to have heels on all night...I was just going to buy my shoes way in advance and wear them every day for a little bit around the house so by wedding day they were comfortable and broke in....

Yeah, my goal will be to keep the heels on all night but something tells me after cake cutting and we're just moseying (sp?) about, I'll slip into a pair of flip flops, which actually HORRIFIED my mom when I told her that ... I looked at her and said okay it's not like I'm going to wear flip flops the whole time, they'd just be for dancing ... LOL she was and still is horrified that I bought a pair of flip flops for the wedding ...

Well uhm lets see. You will want to remember:

    flower girl baskets

    Flower petals

    Champagne glasses

    Guest Book/pen

    Ring pillow

    Cake table Decor

    cake topper

    Garter

    Hair pieces

    corset (if you need one)

    Guest favors

    Table seating chart/Table placing cards

Table numbers if you need them

    aisle runner

    jewelry

something old borrow new and blue

    Bridal party gifts

    Flower girl dresses

    Ring boy tux

I think that is all I can remember off the top of my head. That I have had to fork out in the past two weeks. Just when you THINK that you got everything another little thing sneaks up..

I wore chucks but honestly I would bring flipflops just incase. You don't want to be worrying about sore feet on your wedding night. 99% of dresses would cover them so nobody will notice anyway.

Something I never thought about was personalized napkins if you want them. I also never thought to set some cute little decoration on the bathroom counters or a cute basket filled with lotions and things.

    Deodorant! lol

I was lucky and I was staying where we had the reception, so after a bit of dancing I could run in and touch up.

I have thought about taking a little bag with deoderant and things, but I am also placing a basket in the bathrooms with things like deoderant and mints and such that I will have access to if needed. Thanks everyone - keep them coming... I have a huge fear I will forget something and even though I have enough time - I want everything done ahead of time so that I dont have anything to stress about closer to the big day.

@2D....Other than the things specific to a Jewish ceremony, your list looks like mine. Oh, and I am bringing a fluffer. Smiley smile I just had to type it.

I would def do a bride refresher bag: deodorant, your perfume, powder, brush, hairspray, make up, breath spary, lost of kleenex and a handkerchief. Shout Wipes, safety pins of various sizes, hemming tape(you would never know)a needle with white thread, spare panty hose, tylenol, TUMS, and...don't forget any feminine products...you never know.

I have also prepared an extremely detailed list for our DOC coordinator letting her know how we want decor, etc.

@Meghan....LMAO... Good one! I could not agree more.

To help ease your worry a little bit, go ahead and make the list now and then a few weeks before, put together your bag. I'm going to do that. And I'll place it somewhere I know it is, so I don't have to keep bugging my MOH to go get it for me.

@SoontobeMrs.D.....Funny, I am taking the same approach re my touch up bag. I am actually going to keep it in the rest room. This way, I am not walking around with a big tote.
