Will you ask anyone special to sing or perform at you ceremony or reception? Will you have a live band or go with a DJ or playlist?

We’re having a DJ. We wanted our daughter to sing, but after thinking out it we decided not to.

I did not understand my groom's strong push for a band until they sang to us for our first dance. That was magic.

For my ceremony I'm having my aunt (a professional singer) do the music, and for the reception I'm just plugging my phone into a speaker system and making my own playlist!

I asked my uncles to learn and perform a song for the ceremony. They were excited to be asked and worked hard to create their own beautiful version. 🙂

I'd love to have a string quartet for the ceremony, but we're probably just going to go with the free cantor provided by the church unless we luck into some extra money.

We got a DJ for the reception that was highly recommended, and they've been a dream to work with. I wanted more low-key instrumental music for cocktail hour so people can mingle and hear each other, but then there's a decent mix of genres I wanted for the bigger parts of the reception (first dance, cake cutting, etc.). Our crowd also has a lot of dancers, so I want to make sure there's a lot of fun, upbeat music for afterwards.

We went with a DJ, since it was cheaper! But we really wanted a band!!! If I did go with a band though, or COULD go with a band shall I say, lol...I would do a cover band to the Top 40. I do want people to recognize the music and sing and dance along~

We are having our friends band play for the ceremony and cocktail hour then switch to the DJ that’s included in our venue package for the reception! Best of both worlds.

My wedding ceremony felt so surreal until our cantor sang "How Great Thou Art" as we signed our marriage certificate. Lots of people cried a bit, including me as it sunk in we were married.

Very cool. I agree best of both worlds. I wish I was friends with a cool band.
