I’ve heard that some catholic priests refuse to marry a couple that lives together because they view it as sinful. Has anyone encountered this problem? Does anyone have insight on what to do?
Thanks!

I was raised Catholic but am non-religious now. IMO, lying to a priest kind of defeats the whole purpose of the religious church stuff. Be honest about your living situation and if they refuse to marry you, find a different priest/parish.
Also, I agree with PP about how beneficial it is to live together before marriage. It’s a completely different dynamic than dating, and you find out who people really are when it comes to responsibilities/bills/cleaning/bad days/etc. From what I’ve heard of religious pre-marital counseling, most of the topics they cover are things you’ll end up having already discussed or experienced first-hand if you’ve been living together.
