Locations for indoor photos near Naperville/Aurora

kristina, on September 20, 2017 at 3:03 PM Posted in Planning 0 15

Hello all - I am making this post on behalf of a friend who is getting married this Saturday. She had planned to take her photos at Cantigny, but is worried about the weather - the forecast for Saturday is 90 degrees, and she has a large bridal party (and a very large dress!) and we're hoping to try to find somewhere indoors to take photos instead.

Does anyone have any ideas or recommendations for indoor spots to take photos near Naperville, Aurora, or Warrenville?

Thanks in advance Smiley smile

I don't have any suggestions off the top of my head. I just wanted to say that FH's family lives in that area! I know it'll be rough but I would rather have some outside pictures if I were the bride.

I would suggest reaching out to her photographer. She should know the best way to deal with the heat and where to take pictures.

Ugh, that's tough! Maybe the mortum arboretum? Or they have some nice bookshops. There are places up and down the river walk if she needs shade.

I agree, outdoor photos are ideal, but with the heat and the dresses/hair/makeup/tuxes, it may be a battle that she doesn't want to fight. I got extremely lucky with a 75 degree day in November last year, but unfortunately we can't all be that lucky!

Photographer is a family member and unfortunately has been unresponsive. Just looking to see if anyone has taken any indoor photos in the area recently.

@OP Maybe look into nearby venues and see if it's possible to stop by for pictures? I went to a bridal show in Glen Ellyn that had a beautiful staircase and open space that would be great for photos. She could call the coordinators at those venues and ask about taking pictures.

You could try the Morton Arboritum. I knownits mostly outdoors, but I think they have a few buildings people could go into for some shade and air conditioning between the photos.

Naper Settlement in Naperville. They have several old houses that would probably make good backdrops.

One of the college campuses near by. I know that Naperville has North Central. I haven't been on campus but they might have some nicer buildings or at least have some buildings that will be open to cool off in.

I think Cantigny has a club house or house of some kind. Could you do the photos there?

Thanks - yeah we had planned on Cantigny, but if the indoor spaces are being used for weddings, we won't be able to access them. we will definitely look into Naper Settlement!

Oooo yes, the Naper Settlement may work! I'm just not sure if a lot of these places require a permit or fees beforehand also. I know the arboretum does.

Not indoors but the river walk in downtown Naperville is perfect.

Hi Kristina -- Did you end up taking photos indoor? If so, where? I am trying to come up with a contingency plan in case of bad weather at my wedding next month but I'm at a loss for indoor locations in Naperville/Warrenville! Any help you can provide is much appreciated! Smiley smile

I am getting married in March 2023 at Maggianos in Naperville, IL so I will need to start looking at alternative places to get our pre wedding pictures taken so it could be cold? or not many flowers out. Any suggestions? I want something romantic and elegant
