Logistics of decorating

Cassie, on October 20, 2021 at 8:49 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 9
My wedding is small and casual and most of our vendors are people we know personally meaning a day of planner really isn't necessary. What I do need is just someone to just out up the decorations. I plan to buy all the supplies and just plan to hand someone the supplies to have them put them up the day of. How much should I expect to pay for this and how do I go about finding someone that will just be ok with putting up decor and nothing else?
Or if someone else has had a similar situation and took a different approach I'd love to hear any suggestions (with the exception of asking my bridesmaids or guests to help)

For our minimony my mom and stepmom decorated the morning of. For our big wedding we hired a decorator and paid $950. She did our backdrops, centerpieces, linens, set the tables up, etc.

Our DOC took care of this, I’d recommend getting one.

Our Day of Coordinator will be setting up the decor and facilitating the event. I would highly encourage getting one. At the time we booked ours, he was having a covid package and I got him for $700.

I understand that day of coordinators do this however that is more than I need making a day of coordinator an unnecessary expense. I only need someone to come and spend a couple hours decorating

That’s pretty much all our day of coordinator is doing for us. She had DOC packages available, but I just told her exactly what we needed her to do, and she modified the package and price to reflect what we needed done

Agree with this, it’s common for them to only handle set up tear down if requested. I’d reach out to a few for quotes, including that’s all you’re looking for.

This is what a day of coordinator does in addition to working with your vendors behind the scenes so guests can enjoy the wedding without having to work. Your family and friends don’t have vendor contact information or experience in troubleshooting on the fly that fits with your vision and expectations. Working a wedding doesn’t allow any time or opportunity to enjoy it as a guest.

You can find day of coordinators inexpensively on thumbtack.com. Price depends on your location but they are worth their weight in gold.

My day of coordinator took care of this too. i found one where they only had a minimum amount of hours of 2 which is all you may need.

be wary during your search that there are some that have a high about of minimum hours
