Logistics of first look and vows with bouquet?

mrswinteriscoming, on December 2, 2021 at 6:30 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 4

FH and I are doing a first look and at the same time will exchange our personal vows to one another (as FH didn't feel comfortable expressing this at our wedding ceremony in front of a crowd).

Our photographer will have our vow journals but I am just wondering, what should I do about holding my bouquet while reading my vows, since I will need both hands?

I can't decide which of the following options makes more sense and would love some feedback! Should I:

(a) leave my bouquet in the car; or

(b) have my MOH come with us to take my bouquet after the first look and give us a few moments together for our vows before returning for photos together?

If it is real flowers don't leave it in the car! I suggest leaving it in a vase or with your MOH Smiley smile
When I did my first look I wasn't holding my bouquet. I left it with my bridesmaids in a vase.

I think I agree with Heather. I'd leave it in the car (ideally in a vase) rather than try to wrangle it when you're doing the vows.

For during your first look and personal vow reading to one another I would suggest to not bring your bouquet with you. I have seen brides who brought their bouquet with them for the first look and it seemed to be nothing but in the way during that time. My personal opinion is that it takes a bit of the intimacy out of the moment between the two of you, and that's what that moment in time is all about. My husband and I didn't do a first look, rather a first touch and I didn't want that to happen so I left my bouquet in the room where I got ready.

I agree with Rabreena!! You'll want your hands free for the first look!

I handed my bouquet off to a bridesmaid for our first look and then she brought it over for our couples portraits! 💐
