My fiance proposed on January 26th 2019. This is my second marriage and we are paying for everything ourselves, so we're planning a longer than traditional engagement to allow ourselves to budget and save up slowly as opposed to going broke planning the wedding. We also both work over 40 hours a week and don't have a ton of time to devote to the planning

Our wedding date is 1/2/21, anyone else have a long engagement planned?

My Fiance proposed to me December 13,2018 and we set our wedding date for June 12,2021. I like that we set the date farther out due to saving and less stress for planning. Gives us time to get other things we are dealing with in order but plan slowly as well.

Elise, I too am in medical school and he proposed right before I took Step 1. We’re planning something after graduation or in 4th year. We are also paying for ours sooo and want to do it our way without rushing it. Glad to hear I’m not the only one!

Omg!!! Hey girl hey 🤗 I’m studying for step now, I take it next month! Everyone keeps asking when is the wedding and it’s kind of getting annoying because I have this really big task to handle first (STEP) before I can even start planning.

I’m thinking after graduation too, but I don’t know where I’m going to match so that might be difficult... buuuuut also I forsee myself being very broke after interview season 4th year as I’m trying to go into something competitive. We will figure it out I’m sure lol 🤷🏾‍♀️

We're getting married in June of 2021. This is not a first marriage for either of us either.

We do! He proposed December 16, 2018 and we’re waiting until I’m finished with school in the fall of 2020. We’ll get married some time in early March of 2021.

My lover and I haven’t officially made it to the engagement stage but we both agreed that now is the time to plan and budget. March 12th, 2021 is our planned wedding date. The reason we are waiting so long is because we are planning and budgeting on our own. Everything from the invitations, to the deco, to the food. We also wanted to wait until we graduated college which will be much sooner than expected.

Wedding is hopefully October 2021! Still trying to get in contact with the church and the reception venue people to officially set a date. Got engaged December 2018. Both of us are still in school so planning, going to school full time plus working will be interesting!

My fiance and I are both in school, so for us it just makes more sense to get married once we're all done with school! I'll be done with undergrad and an internship and he'll be finished with undergrad and his student teaching. Plus it will give us time to save and plan without the pressure of a deadline in 2020 when we're wrapping up school!

My fiance and I got engaged in Feburary 2019 but we arent getting married until October 2021. I'm in school getting my Bachelor's degree for nursing and I finish May 2020 so I want to finish school. My sister is also getting married in June 2020. So I want her to have her time with her wedding then it will be my turn. I feel like it's so long but I know it will come quicker than I think!

My Finace and I are getting married in April 2021. He proposed in April of 2019 but we're both still in college and want to graduate before we get married. Plus it gives us time to save up and make a lot of the decorations and stuff ourselves

He proposed April 2019, wedding is September 2021. We're young and want to save up, and we'd both like to at least be done with our BAs and started on our master's. He originally wanted to wait to propose but my mom talked him into just doing it. No time like the present and when you know, you know, so why wait.

I just bought land for us to build a house on. We decided not to have to give up on our dream wedding so in order to have the land and the wedding we are going to have a long engagement.

Engaged 3/9/19 our wedding is 9/2/21. I’m a full time worker and student, I graduate June of 2020. I personally feel that graduation and starting a brand new job, moving and then getting married is a lot in a couple months. I will also be doing an internship so there wouldn’t be much planning being done this next year. Plus the date we would pick for 2020, my fiancé’s brother Is getting married on. Not to mention fall weddings book fast so waiting an extra year gave us first choice on dates at the venue. Also gives us more time to save money.

My partner and I decided that, due to his ongoing battle with stage four metastatic colon cancer (its incurable, unfortunately) and my schooling (I'm about to enter my second year of law school) that waiting two years wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. It gives us a little wiggle room in case anything adverse happens, and it gives us way more time to meet our budget goals. Plus, I find out if I passed the bar the same month we get married, so I have a distraction in case I fail! We try to see the humor in our situation as best as we can Smiley smile

I'm still waiting on the official proposal since we only discussed dates and ceremony particulars while he had been hospitalized during Christmas of last year due to organ failure. I was terrified I was going to lose him way sooner than I wanted to (I will but I thought the end was in sight at that point) so I was kind of desperate to get the wedding details nailed down as quickly as possible, just in case. He's assured me he's going to exceed expectations when it comes to the longevity of his life, so we decided waiting the two years to see what happens is best for us, all things considered.

My fiancé proposed on December 15. 2018. However as life may have it, I must pass the CA Bar Exam first so I can get my job back and have enough time to save up for the little extras on Wedding Day. Cheers to 2021 weddings!!

I picked the same date as well! The two of us are also finishing up our bachelor's degrees and just want more time to focus on school before we full blown focus on wedding planning and starting our lives!
